Those of you who live in Bangkok...Do you guys have jobs? I live where but I don't have a job. Anybody else really lazy like me?

I know its easy to get a job teaching English but I'm not interested in that. Any advice?

What do you guys do?

What I do in Bangkok.....well, besides working as executive in a main tour operator, running my own export business and trying to balance myself between the good family man & the BTF member, what I DO REALLY DO in Bangkok is running away from all the stresses if a life in Europe......
I'd love to work like NM...if getting distracted by every single slim TG can be called work......

caronte,
This is so true !
I have friends who have worked in the Tour Business (Insight,Travellers,Cosmos etc etc) but they have done so mostly in Europe. = Stress. UK = +Stress = +Stress = +Stress !

It would not surprise me in the least that we have already shared a drink at Olympia during the 1980's at the World Travel market. Tourism like aviation can be a small world?

Teaching seems to be the main occupation available to Farang. Some own businesses (and do quite well) i.e. Import - Export, but I would have thought it would be better to find a market first and then supply it rather than to up stock and then try to flog it? Some of the lucky ones get Corporate positions but at a guess I would think they are not the types to indulge in bar culture, if indeed they really enjoy it here? I don't know what embassy staff get up to? The only post that would interest me there is Military Attache and since I would or even could never wear a uniform (too rebelious) that is out of the question.

It still think the point about avoiding European stress the most valid. Walked into Twickenham yesterday afternoon, cold wet and miserable. I, being most miserable! You can feel the stress and 'fed-up' in the air. It probably has a lot to do with the weather.

In a recent survey in the UK it was found that 62% of people wanted to leave the UK and live abroad. 56% wanted to live in Spain ! In fact Spain is beginning in parts to look like an English colony !
I was in Hounslow (near Heathrow) the other day and I heard, Serbo-Croat, Albanian, Somali-Arabic, Hindi,Urdu,Russian, and Polish spoken. I wondered whether I should have asked the check out girl in Marks & Spencer if she spoke English?
I think the UK government is storing up a few social problems for the future ?
