Chinese tourist spending rising in Thailand

Kasikorn Research Centre said at least one million Chinese tourists will visit Thailand this year, generating revenues of 26 billion baht (US$689 million), compared to 800,000 Chinese tourists last year and revenue of 20 billion baht (US$530 million).
KRC said from a tiny market a decade ago, China is now ranked among the top ten biggest markets and is one of the fastest-growing markets for Thai tourism. This reflects the strength of the Chinese economy and the Chinese government policy to encourage its people to travel.
Nevertheless domestic and international factors have played a role in making the Chinese tourist market for Thailand develop in a rather volatile pattern over the last decade. But the overall picture is such that from over 450,000 visitors in 1996, Thailand received nearly double that number last year, receiving over 800,000 Chinese tourists in 2005.
According to statistics collected by the Tourism Authority of Thailand for 2004, some 780,000 Chinese tourists spent over 19 billion baht during their stays in the country.

Sounds good but as more countries come on line for Chinese travel, places like Thailand will 'top up' and perhaps even drop off in total visits from China.
Chinese tourists are not sex tourists to the same degree as 'some' visitors are. They tend to look to travel to places their friends and neighbors will be impressed by, since travel is still a conspicuous consumption purchase in China.
LOS lost it's special allure for the Chinese middle class about 2 years ago.
Very soon the USA will be open to travel group packagers. With the USA now encouraging single travel with easier Visa apps.
By the way, Chinese visitors are really green when it comes to obeying even simple rules.
They regularly get hauled off to the local fuzz station for taking pics at nude beaches-getting a lecture and fine, still wearing their beach attire-oxfords and white socks, and a suit. Madame Tussauds opened over the recent holiday in Shanghai and then had to close down. Favourite wax dummies had pinched cheeks, clothes missing and other damage. And of course bent fingers when fans tried to 'shake hands' with the display.
But everyone wants them. Big per diem spenders, on luxury items. But not sex. Yet.

This is a good question. I live in a complex that is housing several girlls per room from PRC, they seem to stay a few weeks and go back and return again. They dress up really sexy and head out every night around 8 or so.... There are so many of them but where are they working. Maybe they are working mostly Japanese or Asian locations that are not farang friendly.
I would get in and find out in my complex but the wife is never far behind, and I don't want to verify how good Thai Doctors are at reattaching penises.
If anyone knows. I figure since my building is Chinese Thai managed and owned that they are a special group maybe in private homes. If anyone knows share please?

Well apart from the fact they all have the same parts I beg to differ, There are lots of cultural differences and they look a lot different too. Why one would go to Thailand to find Chinese, Japanese, Russian or other foreign girls is a bit of a mystery, but for residents and long term visitors looking for a change, why not.

I personally have a biased opinion on this. The 'Er Nai' mistresses are headaches and pain in the butt to men for many reasons, however, most of them are damn good f... and really excel in bedroom gymnastics. Plenty of women in China are more than willing to be mistress, so a man can choose and substitute if he doesn't at least get his satisfation in the bedroom.
There are also unlimited number of beauty salons and barber shops in Southeren China alone, not even to mention all the KTV and sauna place etc. So not surprisingly you wouldn't find many Chinese men flying 4-5 hours to Thailand for the pooyings.

Barcrawler, Must agree with you, they are NOT the same physically or mentally, stupid thing to suggest.
Sheik the FREAK seems to have anything but Thai women on his mind ( check his posts) which makes you wonder why he bothers attending this forum. He almost exclusively posts in this section about NON Thai women and seems to add very little value to the community.
Its nearly as bad as that Melvin guy in Dubai forum

On my way to RT at Toxic last night struck up a conversation with the taxi driver from my area and asked him about all the Chinese girls they pick up from my place, he said they most of them take rides to Surawong so I am guessing they are in those establishments. All the info I have so far.
