A Lancer is a car made by Mitsubishi Motors. Very common in Thailand amongst the Taxi fr'ternity. Comes in Blue n' Red normally but not normally free.
There's a decidedly un-normal model called the Evolution (Evo for short) wot is a street legal rally car straight outa the box! I b'lieve they're up to Evo VIII at the mo'.

PS: 0 to 60 mph a normal Evo Taxi would give a normal F40 a run for it's Baht!

The 17th Lancers took part in the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava -
"Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,

Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred."
Kind of like BKK taxi drivers.

I dunno mansaturday,
From what I understand of Russian manufacturing practices I would not want a Lancer if it were built in Russia, free or otherwise. 
I will stick with a BKK taxi -- safer...

The most famous Lancers of the 19th century were the Polish Lancers who fought alongside Napoleon, but of course there were Russian Lancers as well, some of whom opposed the Light Brigade at Balaclava on Oct. 25, 1854. Russian Lancers continued to fight for the Czar through the First World War.
Strange that Russian Lancers would be making a comeback in BKK.
