The reason I warn about the Grace is the same reason I warned my nephew not to go into an outlaw biker bar in the U.S. He said he "just wanted to see what it was like," if the crowd there would be as scary as everyone says. He's not a biker, so he wouldn't fit in and the potential for a negative experience, complete with injuries, would be very high.
In one of my first posts to this forum, I acknowledged that there are some experienced punters who can pull off a visit to the Grace (I can't fathom why they'd want to), but the vast majority of guys run a real risk. Nothing good can happen there, so why take a chance? Walking into the Grace is not the same thing as walking into the Biergarten on Soi 7 or a gogo at NEP on SC.
I don't think P4P and drugs are a good mix at any establishment, whether it's a hi-so hangout or bottom-of-the-barrel joint. You use drugs or hang in a place where drugs are one of the attractions, you always risk getting caught up in a raid. At Mystique and Q Bar, the issue was recreational drug use (not that that's a good thing) by individuals, while at the Grace, the issue was large-scale transactions between dealers/smugglers.
I am totally against any kind of trafficking of P4P providers anywhere in the world. Non-Thai nationals shouldn't be P4P providers in Thailand, it's right of the Thai police to crack down on the rings that "import" girls into the country. I'd say the same thing about Thai or East European girls who are trafficked into the U.S. or Europe. It's equally wrong, no matter where it takes place or who's behind it.
I know that a lot of Thai P4P providers don't have the same range of choices in life as a recent Harvard MBA graduate, but at least in the P4P venues with which most farangs come into contact, the grils have infinitely more control over their own lives than the unfortunate East European or Central Asian girls trafficked by the Kiev or Chenchen gangs.
As for Mike's Hotel, I've never set foot there and don't intend to. I can only say this - I've never paid a pimp in my life, anywhere in the world.

I visited Grace hotel disco in my last trip a number of times. The place was ok and nothing to fear. Lots of Russian girls but they are mostly booked by Arab men. I found a few available (not yet booked) Russian girls. One (Lisa) was with two Thai girls. She was pestered by many Indian looking men. So when I approched her she had a very bad attitude and did not want to talk to me. Her Thai girl friend said she would go for 2000 ST. I thought, what the heck, I will try her. I told her that for LT she had to do lots of work to satisfy me because her pleasure hole is very loose. She said no problem and she would satisfy me but she did not want to go to any bar except Grace disco. She was a Muslim and insisted she is from Russia and not from Uzbek.
Next night around 11 PM I picked her up from Nana Guest house to Nana hotel. As promised, she did an excellent job of satisfying me (CIM, COF, fingering her two holes, and cumming a couple of times in her glory holes). She was ready for back hole action also but I am not into that. She said she is into light bondage also. Many Arab man like to tie up their rented Russian girl friends and do it in the back. I think of pimps in old-fashioned American terms, like Ice-Pick Slim (famous Chicago pimp) or Sweet Willy (there's at least one Sweet Willy in every U.S. city). The kind of guy who keeps his stable of girls in line with violence, real or threatened, and collects all the money. He then "supports" the girls at his whim. That's also the circumstances which Uzbek and East European girls endure not only in BKK, but all over the world.
A mamasan or papasan in BKK is very different. They''re barowners or bar employees, brothel keepers, etc. It's more an employer-employee relationship, albeit an unequal one, than a classic pimp-ho' relationship. Of course, there are many bad mamasans and papasans in LOS and if they treat their girls in the manner of a pimp, they are indeed pimps.
The distinction I make between pimps and non-pimps is based on two factors: 1) what percentage the girl gets to keep of the total fees and tips that the customers pay for sexual services; and 2) if violence or threats of violence are used to controlo the girls. The East European mobs mainly use threats againstr the girls' families back home to keep "their" girls working for them.
