I will be in Thailand for a few months on a tourist visa. I've seen information on some serviced apartments on this site. I'm looking to spend 1 to 2 months in one apartment, serviced if possible, fully furnished, with pool, near soi cowboy, nana or easy to get to and back with company by public transportation. I've been to a couple of websites listed on this site and the average price seems to be 20,000 baht per month plus utilities. Are there any places 16,000 baht or less per month and do these places accept credit cards? Thanks.

Nope. You're not gonna find anything for serviced- for a one to two month stay- for less than 20k. Wait, I take that back... House By The Pond might have something for 18k.
Bangkok may be cheap all right, but it ain't that cheap...

You wont find this price or level or service IN THIS AREA, but if you go in Pratunam or around Victory monument for example there are plenty of cheap serviced appartements...
If you stay in Thailand for 2 or 3 month having your appartment in a place located out of the "farang ghetto" is a good idea IMHO

Thanks for the information. I've been to the website, mrroomfinder.com, and there are cheap apartments, but many of them seem to be owned and are being rented out or are far out of the way from the tourist areas. Anyone have experience with places on this site? Some of the places don't have contact information. I don't mind a cheaper place if it isn't serviced.

I stay now in a smaller place where I get the same rate for a smaller/simpler room, BUT it is cleaned everyday!

Try emailing a few hotels -
You might be pleasantly shocked by the rates that a hotel will give you for a continuous stay of over a month- outside of peak periods of course. The room is smaller but the service and amenities tend to be better - pool, room service etc - and you don't have to cook your own breakfast. I have done this elsewhere. Just a thought. Enjoy.
