I am planning to live in BKK for six months next year, and have been researching Serviced Apartments. President Park's main draw for me looks to be it's Gym.

Besides not being right on Suk, what are the pros and cons of this place. Looking forward to get some info from people who have stayed there. Thanks!

I stayed there for 2 weeks about 2 years ago. It really is too far to walk to Suk (and there sidewalks were terrible on Suk 24), but they have a free shuttle that runs hourly to the Emporium (corner of Suk and Soi 24) in the mornings and a few times in the afternoon. There is no return shuttle is available so take a cab back to the hotel.

There is more than one building (I was in the main building) so I don't know what the other rooms were like in the other building (s). My room was fine. I think I paid 2000 baht per night.

There was a lot of construction going on at the front of the Capital Club when I was there. Hopefully it is finished now (although I never saw anyone working on it when I was there). There are pretty good (and reasonably priced) Italian and Chinese restaurants in the Club. The club is not luxurious by any means, but it has just about whatever machine you need (although some had a few rust spots on them).

If you don't mind the location, it's probably a good place to stay.

You kinda hit on what I was thinking. I like to womanize, and booze it up with the best of them, but don't necessarily need to live on top of Nana Plaza. Bangkok has tons of taxis and Motorbike taxis to get around, so it is not like I need to walk or drive anywhere.

I will be visiting BKK a couple times before I stay there for an extended period. I will visit all the Presidents, and a few others prior to making a decision. Thanks

President Park on Soi 24.

The hotel is a bit warn looking, the traffic noise in the road side rooms is terrible as the hotel is on both sides of Soi 22 at a junction. The Tuk Tuks make a hell of a noise all night long.
Getting to Sukhumvit can be a bore with the traffic trying to get through the lights at Emporium.

May I suggest you check out Admiralty Suites on Soi22 and Rembrandt Towers Apartments on Soi 18. both have web pages. The gyms might not be as good but the rooms are far better, AS gym is small and so is the pool, RTA pool is great havn't checked the gym, got my excerise chasing the body guards round my one bedroomed apt, it might be better to join a gym?

There's a lot of hotel info on nanapong.com forum.

I think it depends on what floor you are on and in what building you are in at President Park, as to whether you will hear any noise. I didn't hear a thing from my room. I have stayed at both, and found Admiral Suites to be noiser, but obviously room location can make a difference.

The Capital Club is actually open to residents of Admiral Suites. That is because both serviced apartments are managed by the same company. However, I think Admiral Suites only has 2 passes available at a time for use at the Capital Club (and only for 2 hours at a time) and the walk to the club is a bit further than if coming from President Park. I found the excercise equipment at Admiral Suties to actually be pretty decent, although the Capital Club has more to offer than just excercise equipment.

I negoiated a 6 month lease, have been in it for 5 months, and will be extending for another 12 months. Prices range from 60,000 a month to 85,000 depending upon the size and floor. I am paying 66,000 on the 18th floor, plus about 4000 on metered electricity. The size is about 2500 square feet, and I have not seen anything close to its capital club in bangkok. Its like living in the middle of a country club without the golf course. You are two minutes from the emporium- and then just one skytrain stop to soi cowboy and two stops to Nana.Service by the staff is great., usually respond within 15 minutes for minor community maintenace calls, laundry, etc.

I have stayed in all the "President" group chains of hotels including PP, GP, RP and PS. I must say if you have more than 3 days in BKK, my first choice would be President Park. It's much more relaxing in that part of town than all the others in the chain. On my last two trips, I had chosen PP on both occasions and had enjoyed it very much. Like others have said, going to places like the little supermarket right behind the patisserie, Starbuck, a very nice breakfast buffett at the Davis Hotel ( much better than President Park's own ), the giant Seafood Market and Restaurants ( " If it swims, we have it " ) all add to the relaxing atmosphere that you don't find in others. Going out to Suk is not too bad until the last 100 meters or so when you are getting close to the Emporium and the traffic starts to back up. I usually just get off the taxi and walk the rest of the way which is quite fun sometimes because there are a couple of side streets with Japanese restaurants, Baron's, and other mps along the way. And if you like soi33 actions, then PP is the choice unless you want to upgrade to the Emporium Suite which is about 50% more expensive but you save the trouble of getting in and out of the taxi on soi24 and the room is a tad nicer. I would say, PP is 4 stars and Emporium is 5 stars as far as SAs go. So, save a little and stay at PP or splurge and stay at the Emporium Suites. If you want a little more details of all othe "President" group of SA's, you can pm me and I will fill you in.

Biggest prob I had here was the gossip of a security guard who made it his business to inform girls they weren't the first visitor that day etc etc

Is a drag to Suk Rd agree- no probs with noise where I was though-high up-nice rooms etc

The Gym is good have to say
