I would like to hear from members that have rented or are currently renting a condo in Pattay or Jomtien. Maybe Center Condo, or the condos in Jomtien like the Jomtien Plaza, View Talay 1 and II. I would like to know what you like and dislike about it. I'll be coming back in a few months for more than a month and thought I would try something different than a hotel. I went to the Talay 1 and II webiste and they look good, so thought now I would get some first hand input. Thanks in advance.

On two occasions I've rented a studio condo at the Yensabai Condo and liked what I got for the money. Very large room with kitchen, large bath 25"TV, AC, in room safe. Sitting area with sofa and two chairs for 500 per night. I would rent again. www.pattayarentaroom.com

I'm renting at View Talay. I like the price, the large pool, and I have a good view. However, being on the Jomtien side of the building, I also get quite a lot of street noise in the morning from the busy street below, even though I'm on one of the higher floors. Also, the only English channel I get is BBC World, and there's no phone, but an upgrade would remedy those factors. There's also a fridge & microwave, and ac. I have to pay the extra 10 baht on the Baht Bus, but many times I'll just walk to Walking Street (it takes me 30 minutes), and the drivers want 100 baht at night to deliver you to the door. But, it's still great value for 9000/month, plus about 1000 for utilities. I've stayed there nearly 3 months, and I'll probably move into a better place at the end of the month since I'd like to be closer to the action. I chose the Jomtien area because I thought the beach was cleaner than Pattaya, but after going swimming one time, I'm not sure about that.

Thanks very much for the info. It was helpful. Dusa: I walked past Yensabai Condo when last in Pattaya and it looks like a good bet. How is the pool at Yensabai? I swim at least once a day and this is important Also, is direct phone lines and internet access available in the rooms Woody, I am thinking less and less in favor of Jomtien for the reasons you mentioned and were repeated by others. Prices sure are good though. Jinjo, Talay Villas sound ideal but what did it cost you? Sure, send me some photos I would like to see them. Thanks. Besides Yensabai Condo has anybody stayed at any other Condos in Pattaya, ie. Center Condo, etc.

Babysnake: I went to your link, excellent comments about View Talay that help my decision-making. Almost to a person, if there was something they disliked about Jomtien condos, it was the travel to/from South Pattaya. I think I can tolerate that but would still prefer Pattaya for the convenience. The other thing is that management at View Talay told me it was possible to get a room with direct phone line and internet access (only 56K), but at Yensabai Condo for instance in Pattaya, they did not have internet access. Thank again. BangkokTonight rules!
