Quote: from Bang Cock Mack 25 on 7:37 pm on May 16, 2005 House by the Pond. Too bad that it's a little deep in soi 22/2. I once visited a friend there and I think it's a very solid place with a good value for money.
A *little* deep is an understatement, but I know what you mean about the charm factor, I checked this place out and liked everything but the hump to Sukh. If Admiral is not too far in your book- though it is in mine- then the new Bally's studio could be a candidate. http://www.ballys-studio.com/ It's right across the alley from Admiral. The Indian owner, Suthep, is congenial but shrewd-the consumate businessman. He'd wheel and deal for a 6 month stay- and his rates start about 30K/month. So, you know Evergreen from personal exp. Good! Must mean our preferences jibe. I'll keep you posted on my findings.

@ ringthebells, Nonsi Residence looks really great. Fantastic prices. However, I think it won't work without a car. @ Dr. Love, I already checked that site. I will keep my eyes open... Thanx. @ Skip, Admiral and Ballys are not on my list. House by the pond still is (at the bottom), but just because of the charm factor.

nonsi is no more than 10 mins by taxi from emporium. can be 20 if traffic. it really depends on your commuting times and where you need to go. I live nearby. at night, 10 to 15 mins is the max from lower sukhumvit. rtb

Yo! Mack 25- Here's one you might be interested in, kind of a long shot for your needs, I think, but ever since I discovered it I've wanted to go back for a better look. I drove by one Sunday and the office was closed. The drive-by impressed me a lot though, as did the lobby and the pool beyond- both very sizeable and well done. Rompo Mansion, this is the best link for info: http://www.bu.ac.th/th/academic/buic/contens/arrival/rompo/ Study that map a bit and you might realize the locale is quite good. The area was crawling with motocy's. Plus, that close by MRT station is right out front of one of the nicest buildings/libraries/coffee shops/bookstores combined that I have yet to see in this town: The Stock Exchange of Thailand. The place is packed every day of the week with up and comers and Sirikit Park is just next to that. And all that is one station off from the Asoke interchange, so BTS is very nearby. The much more well known Boss Tower isn't too far away either, but I don't think that would interest you. Checked out Sukh. soi 14 and the only thing available was a 3 bd/Bt110,000 month lux appt. Never mind!

Hey guys ! As I want to stay at EVERGREEN PLACE in two weeks, I am looking for actual information about this place and the surrounding. What is about the gym, how many running maschines ? What about the equipment for the kitchen. ? Will they have pots, pans and laddles for selfcooking ? Is there a balcony ? I know it is near SIAM, MBK and skytrain. What is about a local market ? Thanks
