About a year ago I stayed at the President Park for 2 weeks. I made my reservation directly with PP. I was told at the front desk that there was a 5% surcharge for CC payments, so I had to use my ATM card and paid in baht.

Santa Klaus, how far of a walk would you say it is to Sukhumvit? I want to book here as it seems nice but the posts I read keep saying it is way off the beaten path. I don't mind walking a bit but don't want a mile hike in that BKK heat everyday.

I take it you are referring to Admiral Suites. Best way to Suk is head about 200 metres up to Imperial Queens Park Hotel. Walk through the hotel and exit at the back. Walk through the park to the Emporium and Sky Train station which is about 400 metres. The Park Gate into the hotel closes at 9pm according to the sign, but it is relatively traffic free on Soi 22 at that stage so there should not be much delay in a taxi back to base.

The information from breatless is spot on though it can feel a lot longer to walk in the heat or when you have beer on board ' one step forward two back'
The route I take depends on the mission!! heading for the station or a spot of shopping at Emporium or massage at Barons I take the park. Out for a meal and/or a few afternoon drinks I head on up the soi Suk direction and call into the beer bars, or head into Washington Sq., MP on yer left bars, restaurants on right. Sanzanka further up on right, after massage head straight out of the door and you will find some more US bars, which can be fun and some times not!!!!! Keep heading on out towards Suk and you will come to a Paddy pub expensive grub and beer. On the other side of Suk odd numbers you will find Villa supermarket to stock up your room fridge ans Soi 33 to stock up your bed!!
