I'm looking for a 1 bedroom, 1 living room apt, price range 14-17k Baht per month, will need broadband, something fairly close to a BTS. Am open about area. I currently live on Thonglor but am not bothered about moving to other places if I find right apt at right price.
I currently have a cool apt for 25k but its right next to the complex swimming pool and the daily noise from the kids and residents is driving me nuts.
Any recommendations on apts in my price range ??

Here's a place that may suit you. It's certainly worth a looksee. A gal from Singapore I met who lived there was very satisified. I never got inside to look, but I have been by a couple of time and the location, lobby and pool are all very appealing.
Rompo Mansion
I forgot this place for a time, was meaning to pass it along to the BangkokMac poster a while ago.
Note: the site's map does not do it's location justice. It is a very brief motocy ride away from the Sirikit MRT station [thus one away from Asoke BTS] and about equi-distant to the back of Sukh. soi 24 which would get you to Phromg Phong fast. Being near but off of Rama IV also has some advantages.
The Raintree Villa, on 53, might also be worth a looksee. Many condos of various sizes in there.
Thirdly, on soi 49, close to sukhumvit, but before it does the dog leg towards Samitivej there is splace on the right [if you came from Sukh.] I think the name may be 49 Tower. Anyway, it that sticks out at about edit: 5 stories and is smack across the street from two Hi-So estates that sit side-by-side. Those will really stand out- peek through the gates and it's all manicured to perfection. The place runs a small ad in the BKK Post occasionally. It might be hybrid appts. and/or Serviced Res. vibe there.
Smaller units at these last two should be in your range.

I have 2;
one is Sutti Mansion 2, located across from Thong Lo. near suk soi 38 (yes the one with all the late night good eating)... a friend of mine rents a corner 1 br for 17,000 and he said he had seen another 1 br (non corner) for 15,000 (closest station Thong Lo ---- like 10 steps to the escalator) --- my friend said that broadband is serviced thru the building for a price (he says that its a TRUE network setup)
the other... is off of sathorn near Bangkok Christian College. called Pramuan Court (yellowish looking buildings)... big 1br for 15K... like 75 sqm; the kitchen even has a oven!... I stayed there a year ago before moving into my condo. great place good location, steps from Surasak BTS. has a 7/11 out on the corner... and some good restaurants down the street.

yo guys,
yes, I had a buddy with a pad at the yellow place across from Bangkok Christian College. It was nice and the oven was something, we had Thanksgiving there 2 years in a row.
I think the price range was in that area, not 100%, but a nice apartment.
One thing I will never forget, and thinking about that apartment block am reminded of, is seeing a motorbike driver and St. Louis Hospital nurse killed by an SUV that ran the light just outside BCC. The worst thing I have ever witnessed.
I was leaving my mates place on the back of a motorbike as well headed over for full english breakfast at bobby's arms, the image is stuck in my head forever.
Check on sathorn soi down from assumption college, there is a nice place across from the gas station in that price range.

NYC Boys' post just triggered another recall....
38 Mansion is just across Sukh. from Thong Lo [soi 55] which puts it just behind Tulips. It is a wee bit down the soi- not too far- and does have a small motocy stand right outside the door. Very friendly staff there, at least there was when I checked it out.

Tough question! Month-to-month commands a premium, as does the Sukhumvit corridor. If you were willing to go up to 18-20K you could find something in
House by the Pond or 38 Mansion.
Try searching on this site: 9 Apartment I just found it recently. It seems to have a lot of inventory and plenty of search options to narrow things down. Good luck!

A mate of mine had a similar noise problem in his apartment, and cut it down substantially by installing some really heavy Roman blinds. You might want to try it, before you give up an apartment you are otherwise happy with.
