Rajah Mansion, Soi 4 down from Nana, near Admiralty Suites. Any info would be appreciated ie. Quality, G. friendly, service etc.
And yes I did a search.

C'mon Mach, have a look at the link. Is yr experience slightly outdated or have u actually seen the new layout? It is obviously newly renovated and looks quite nice and would be a great deal for that money given the *nice* location... Looks like a good deal even for a 2 or 3 weeks stay.
I guess this place belongs to the guys from Raja Fashion Tailor in Soi 4 next to NEP. Quite enterprising these guys... I know that Bobby, one of the owners of Raja Fashion, was up to opening such a place... He asked me for advice upon Falang expectations some month ago. As u can see I gave good advice

I know someone who stays there on a permanent basis.
He says it is ok, just ok. Girl friendly and quite neat and tidy. I have been round and it is not bad, I don't think it would suit for a long term (ie 6mth plus) well not me anyway, but for a month it would be OK. Walls are a bit thin though so could be noisy.
But the Rajah Hotel next door,now that is a first class dump.

Stopped by and took a look around today. Well there is something to be said for you get what you pay for. The place is not near as nice as the internet makes it appear. But not bad for the price.
Reminds me a bit of a long stay PB hotel. They did put some effort into refurbishing the place but most of the new stuff is cheap and showing some wear already like the cheap mattresses.
The bathrooms are actually about the same or maybe a shade worse than PB hotel. The floors are cheap wood laminate FM with the time you have spent in China you have probably see your far share of this stuff.
It does have a pool though, wireless internet, and the location is good right next to ball in hand, and Sin Club. And for the price not sure if you will find anything better unless you want to sleep on my sofa?

Yeah the internet is a wonderful world where every image looks great on 17 inches of screen.
They do hit you for 1000Baht p.m. for the wireless apparantly.
Can't sweat the mattress.
Hey I could always sleep with my eyes closed for a change.

Hi guys,
I've been searching for apartments and had little luck thus far. I'm looking for something in the 10000 - 13000 baht range, near the bts or metro, preferably on or near Suk, and preferably a pool. I know I'm asking alot for that price, but I'm not looking for a palace, just a place thats half decent (low cockcroach count) that I can crash at night, and occasionally take some company back.
I've found and tentatively booked Rajah Mansion (not Hotel) and was hoping for some feedback, good or bad, or perhaps a suggestion that fits my criteria.....remebering that I'm not looking for a palace.

I live here on Soi 6 and I do not know of a Rajah Mansion. Rajah Hotel is on soi 4 and has been considered a dump for a long time. But they have painted the outside so maybe they are moving up with some investment..... don't know.
Be careful..... stay 1 - 2 nights on a daily basis before signing a one month comittment.
