Buddy & I just got back from 4 nights in Bangkok. We were @ the Grand President (Diamond Suite, 2 King Bedrooms) for the 1st night. Price was 3850/night net, room only. Room acceptable, but worn. Decided we wanted to move. Walked in & struck a deal @ Centre Point for US$95/night, 4 person occupancy, w/breakfast. Room was 2 bedroom Type I(the letter, not #), 121 square meters. King bed in 1 room, Queen in the other. Each with bath. Price, US$95 same as GP, but night & day difference. Not the best place I've ever stayed, but still, truly, a very nice room.  Fantastic A/C. Sony Trinitron TV in living room. Additional TV's in bedrooms. Nice CD Hi-Fi. VCR machine, useless. No DVD unfortunately, would have been great if they had, although said they could provide if long term rent. Free cable internet. Breakfast decent. No problem at all with bringing 2 girls each. Security clicked their heels every time we came back, although I did tip 20 Baht. What the heck, what's 20 Baht? Free electric tuk tuk service from hotel to Suk, hotel is @ the end of Soi 10. This place is geared to legit business people & families, so not an outright "players" type place. It's quiet. But as long as you get girls w/relatively good manners should be no problem whatsoever. We didn't blast the volume at our parties, but we still partied. Frequent pleasureable noises came from our room, so you don't have to be Church-Mouse quiet. Super place for this price, not a cheapie, but extremely reasonably priced IMHO. Highly recommended.

Hi Someone,
Didn't even check prior to going there, but turns out that US$95/night is the regular published rate, at least for now for the 2 Bed Type I. Centrepoint said it was a special promotion, maybe, maybe not. Anyway, 1 Bed is listed as US$72/night, double ocupancy. That's a bit on the high side for myself, unless I'm there on my company's dime. Of course if you're on your company's dime I'd look at Emporium Suites or President Solitaire. These are some SERIOUSLY nice places. Centrepoint is http://www.centrepoint.com. One other nice place, & very reasonable, is Admiral Suites, http://www.admiralsuites.com. This is a brand new place, 6 months-1 year maybe. 45 square meter deluxe studio is 1800 Baht/night net. Very modern w/light wood floors & accents. This is the kind of stuff I like. I've heard no problem w/girls here. A little off the beaten path on Soi 22, but still a very short taxi to anywhere along Suk. Should give this place a look. My buddy was set on a 2 Bed place so we could party together. That was nice, but limited options. If I was by myself, I'd have gone to Admiral Suites. One other place for you to consider is Sommerset Lakepoint. Looks good too. But for VALUE, the nod goes to Admiral Suites IMHO. Happy hunting.

You get very nice one bedroom apartments there for 2700 baht per night.  It's hands down my favorite place to stay in Bangkok, at least at that price.

I was kinda hoping it would stay Bangkok's best kept secret...

I always prefer serviced apts than hotels and haev stayed at Park Suan Plu
http://www.parksuanplu.com/
very large two bedroomed apt is 3,200 inc breakfast - Its a great place and has good facilities.  It is sort of half way btwn Patpong and Suk, so it suits someione wanting to hit both places, but not be stuck in the middle of the action all the time.

I noticed that too HS - they just changed the website and may have made a f_ck up - The rooms are great.  Stayed there last year, and back again in Sept.  The pool is also goo, but the veiws from the balconies are excellent.  They also do good food.  It is a deff good place to stay if you dont want to be on Suk (for whatever reasons).  It si also bg friendly.  Saw a few guys bringing up their TGF's. I didnt try as wifey staying there also, dont want to shit on my own doorstep.

iualum,
thanks for the extra info .  I'm looking at those other sites right now.

iualum  or anyone that can answer,
Have you ever stayed at the omni towers?  How would you rate that place?  I'm looking for a fairly nice place under the 2000 baht range TG friendly(no joiner fees)and does not have to be close to the action.  I usually stay at the Royal Benja but i'm looking for a change.

thanks...
