Hello all, In the midst of planning my next trip to paradise. Hoping that the anticipation of the next trip will get me out of the post-LOS depression that I am going through Have couple of queries regarding President Park service apartments (the hidden agenda in choosing this place is the close proximity to Baron's and Angel). Hope you brothers can help me. 1. How far is the President Park apts from the Phrom Pong BTS station ? 2. There are so many types of rooms when I checked the President Park's website. Which of these (the studio or 1 BR types) is spacious with a large king size bed or two twin beds that can be joined together ? 3. Any comments on their breakfast spread - good/average ? 4. Does one have to book through their website or are there any travel agents who can get a better deal ? Thanks so much. Cheers, NewKid

sid@presidentpark.com ask sid for his best price.......did me a good deal. Studios are nice, staying there for 3 months in a few weeks. Actually had booked somewhere else until was offered a good deal here so cancelled elsewhere. Stayed before once, nice facilities. There's a bus to the BTS, otherwise a fairly short walk. Just a few mins. never had breakfast there, in fact don't eat breakfast anywhere so can't help you on that one. Got an exec studio for just over 40k a month which isn't bad as it is a nice place with internet thrown in

a few minutes.... count about 20 of them on foot. The studios are nice. Regular price for a good deal is about 7,000-8,000 per week.

I'd have said 10 but not going to debate as there is a complimentary bus and airport pick up if required. Nice rooms/nice staff

The " Walk " to the BTS is a real long one (at least 20 min!!) and in hot sun, you can't walk that fast either. Also if you take a taxi or bus out to Suk., and if you run into traffic jam which is very often because this soi is narrow and full of traffic, it will take you just as long as you walk, so sometimes the taxi driver will have to take you on a long detour in the opposite direction to get back to Suk. It's in a nice neighborhood, but the inconviniece to Suk really sucks ! ( nopun intended ) I stayed there for 5 days early this year and loved the place except for the distance to Suk. The pluses : Great pool, gym, nice lobby, girl friendly, modern room, fast internet.......The minuses : Distance to Suk, so so breakfast buffet.

at many places there is a motocy (motorbike taxi) taking you to the bts for 5 to 20 baht ( 5 in bangkok noi and 20 on sukhumvit). 30 000 thb for a studio on suk seems on the high end. I have seen many nice places for 15 000 to 30 000. you surely have a choice. peace buxeda

i once took a motorbike after my taxi driver go into a traffic jam and nothing was moving for 10 minutes. The taxi driver felt so bad that he could not take me to my destination, he actually found and paid a motor bike guy 40 bahts to get me there. It was a funny sight with me holding on to my shopping bags and camera in one hand and grab on to the biker guy with the other zig-zaging in and out of BKK traffic. Although I think it's probably not too dangerous because these guys do it all the time, but not my idea of comfortable transportation. I cannot recommend it because if there is an accident ( I was hit by a scooter in Chiang Mai, bruised my left ankle real bad ), you are on your own in a foreign country and the guy probably does not have any insurance or money to pay for your medical. Why take such a risk while on vacation ?

hi manowar, yes, they do not have insurance. and yes, they will not take you to bumrungrad and pay for your bills. īt is a risk to ride a motorbike taxi in bkk. very slim but serious. I always did it and was always lucky... you have to get used to it, though. peace buxeda

I actually like the walk to Sukhumvit personally. Wouldn't bother with a taxi as above says, similar to Lumpini where they take detours etc. If you don't fancy the walk then ok perhaps a bad choice. The place iteslf as manowar says is particularly nice and that outweighs the minuses for me. There are cheaper and better located for Sukhumvit of course. Must admit though if I really like a place I tend to go back. This and the Jasmine have been my two particular favourites. The mayfair a close third.
