Now, I can't be bothered re-reading the long threads on Eden club, but as the posts came in I was left with the feeling that there was a lot more support FOR the club than against.
And like you and nokna, I don't see any of the agenda items at Eden remotely approaching services to be described as fetish.
So just what was the orriginal post all about?? What motivation??

And yes my impression is also that Eden consistently wins the popular vote.
That is not to say that they have sustained no damage. The old saw about all press being good press if they spell your name right is not entirely true.
On the other hand they do pick up some sympathy from people like me. I live in Bkk but have never set foot in Eden. But I will stand up for Marc when he is gratuitously attacked.

Why is Eden club hated by so many people?
HI EVERYBODY
i will try to answer this question
checking myself each guy coming down and having many times a week guys telling me :
"I CAN'T UNDERSTAND ALL THE STUPID COMMENTS ON THE NET ABOUT THIS PLACE "
i know that it has nothing to do with the ladies or the services provided by the club
i am totally aware that it is directly adressed to me and maybe the concept of our club ( NOT A DRINKING BAR )
the day i decided to stop to be a regular bar , somebody ( PLUS A FEW OTHER GUYS ) that i considered as a friend , mister B. from Songkla went to the CHILLI PEPPER magazine and made them wrote a half page of negatives comments about the club .
he did the same with the BANGKOK POST in the weekly column of Bernard TRINK.
it didn't work because most people could understand our concept
the day we went specialised 1 guy and 2 ladies it was the same story
some guys believe that because they are coming from outside and spending money in Thailand that they can do everything they want anywere they want .
some guys believe because they are living here many years that Thailand belongs to them and that they can do anything they want anywere they want.
sorry to all but EDEN CLUB has some rules .

a FEW rules for the guys

Jan 10..9 days ago was my last day in BKK and my 1st trip to eden. To make you remember me I'll tell you this. My brother and I came to eden at
about 5pm..there was a 45 min wait for a room..my brother went up thatnight
and I left(you recommended I come at back at 1:00 the next day).I did and I
chose a girl you called (the crazy one .remember?
Anyway, I've read many nasty things about eden on the bangkok tonite
forum, and just wanted to tell you I thought your club was as sanitary as it
could be, and the ladies were very professional. They couldn't have done
more to make me happy.
I spent 5 weeks in BKK and pattaya on this last trip and the eden club is what I remember the most..im coming back may 12 and I will be seeing you
then..take it easy.

my friend visited and he gave me a detailed report of everything that happened with him and the 2 girls.
he was that impressed,he took the same 2 girls the next day.
he is visiting in May and Sept and he tells me his first port of call will be Edens.
a fair endorsement i think.
and as Dave says,more good talk about Eden's then bad.

Just a quick note from Ian and John to thank you and the ladies from the
Eden Club that we had the pleassure of being with.....for the great time at
the Eden Club and the first night I spent with Yom was the highlight of my
holiday.
John has not stopped talking about the 2, 90 minute sessions he had...
Thanks again for the great times and memories, we are planning another
holiday in June and will be in contact with you closer to the dates....

Marc is right. When my place was being flamed (not on this forum) the trolls and perps were people who had never been here or even in Thailand.
With a few identifiable exceptions.
Marc, the problem with trolls is that they thrive on attention and so the best thing to do is to ignore them (Yeah, I know I ought to practice what I preach...)
You have won the war, but, the trolls will still fight a retrograde gyerilla action (what we now call a Low Intensity Conflict, LIC) against you.
Best to ignore them.
Is Mister B in Songkla the ex Peace Corps 'writer'? If so I know he is a petulant, petty vindictive prick. What an asshole! You don't have to respond publicly, just drop me a PM if I am right.
Aren't there enough watering holes in Bkk without his obliging yours to be one?

Why does Eden get so much attention?
--It's a little unusual i.e. you must take two girls, it is not a drinking place, you can pretty much assume you will have some toys involved in the act, there is a very clear demarcation of which gals do back door - and back door in itself is fairly unusual in LOS
--Marc does do a fair amount of self-promotion here and elsewhere, and got himself banned from one board
Is most of that attention negative?
--go to his site, go to nanaplaza, go to nanapong - seriously, how many are negative? How many are verifiably negative? Also, how many guys who had a wild good time are going to post about it? This is a silent majority issue - my guess is, the vast majority of folks either love the place, don't know about it, or don't care for it and don't go there. There seem to be other guys who have some sort of wacky bone to pick.
I think the rule that Marc makes clear, and others as well make clear, should stand:
--go there. If you hate it upon entering, leave, like you would any place in BKK. I've walked out of MPs and gogos because I did not want to be there. Nobody chained me in there. (well, I got handcuffed in Eden once, but that was by request)
--if you hate it after your experience, tell Marc. He won't make you pay. Try this anywhere else! I'd love to get refunds on some really lousy experiences elsewhere but knew there was no way. And if you did hate it, don't go back. If you get your refund after a lousy expeirence, I don't see how you have any right to bitch.
--if you like it, go back.
Seems pretty simple. Marc does have a fault, he is a good salesman, and he is pretty tough about his rules. And he is sensitive when people bash him, but I guess that comes from getting so much crap.
I'm trying to talk my gf into going there with me. I may not go back until she agrees. In my mind, that would be a pity. I've enjoyed it a lot every time there, and partially because the attitude of the place is "no ripoff". What an idea!
