months late to answer- but as a great fan of Eden- and one who pushed for Pattaya -- to me Phuket won't work-
Of my 30+ trips to BKK/Pataya- had always wanted to go to Phuket- finally went a few months ago- but waited until I had TGF-- (TGF always thinks I arrive Bkk 4 days after I do- so have time for at least two Edens)
My reaction- stayed at great hotel- loved the beach- but was glad I didnt come alone- there just wasn't enough sleeze for me- and yes my TGF was not happy about our nightly searches (and your club wouldnt bring me back - with the air flights etc when other Edens are so easy
and I probably wont go back to Phuket- while my TGF had never seen a real beach with waves (and the sound of her laughter as the waves hit her in the face- was one of my favorite moments) - in the US we have tons of beaches- but we dont have BKK/Patty sleeze- and neither did Phuket-- regards Marc

Don't forget the power of internet, Eden Club Bangkok do good business because of it. Now with the reputation of the place the word is also flying from punters to punters but most of your new customers learn about Eden on the net it should be the same for Eden Phuket.
My friend is the owner of a hotel in Patong and I go there every year and I see a lot of customers behaviour when I am there. The hotel is guest friendly (free) and I see lot of girls traffic all day and night and one thing the punters have in common is that they are there for fun and vacation and they don't mind burning their money like there is no tomorrow. At night in the bars you can hear the bar bells ringing everywhere and the money is flowing like a tsunami.
Is there a place for a Eden Club in Phuket, I think so but it should be base in Patong because it's the nightlife capital of the island and every tourists go there at night anyway.
One of a speciality place they have in Patong is a ladyboy massage place something that I never saw in Bangkok or Pattaya and they seems to do good business on what I saw on the net and mind you a ladyboy massage business occupy a far more smaller niche than Eden Club.
Phuket is surely a more family vacation place but on what I see every night in Patong ist's not only a family oriented place.
Few years ago every tourists coming to Phuket had to do a stop in Bangkok but now the Europeans are comming by full plane directly to Phuket and some of the tourists comming to Thailand every year never step a foot outside Phuket. Forgot to say that the Australians have direct flights to Phuket to.
Upscale or richer punters doesn't mean that they don't like hardcore in fact I never saw more couples comming back to the hotel with bar girls than any other places in Thailand.
I never bring TG from Bangkok to Phuket in 14 years because there is plenty to find right there.

From the day we started this thread to today I do believe that Pukhet did evolve the way you describe it
Maybe time to reconsider

... Edenpapa, Jaidee... some good points... an interesting market analysis, quite similar to the programming work we conducted in the development of our regional retail shopping malls and hotels.
... I would be leery of Phuket for such a narrowly defined market as Eden.
... consider the qualitative and quantitative character of the typical Phuket traffic, versus your typical Bangkok Eden deal flow... knowing the character of your Eden BKK traffic is the key to extrapolating Eden into new trade areas (just as sophisticated retailers)
... Edenpapa... I suspect your deal flow includes a significant measure of pure tourist traffic (largely one time patrons)... but, what percent of your deal flow are regularly in BKK on business and pay Eden a call?... what additional percent of your deal flow are BKK residents?... what percent of these two classes of deal flow are repeat customers, versus the pure tourist visitor?
... so, how do repeat customers play into your business plan?... it would seem Phuket has far less a prospect for capturing repeat customers.
... also, check-out the TOT's published arrivals in Phuket, versus BKK... and note the seasonal fluctuations.
... the simple number of tourist-days in BKK versus Phuket is probably huge.
... the highly seasonal nature of Phuket arrivals will be difficult to accommodate if your business is reliant upon either:
(i) regular business travelers patronizing Eden; or,
(ii) local residents.
... both of these would appear in shortage in the Phuket trade area.
... you've probably access to a lot of relevant information on your customer to make an informed empirical argument for growth.
