Kaymanx, thanks. I have read about this geyland area and fishbowls there, I presume it is a mixture of private places and these massage brothel places. Anyone know about actual fishbowl joints in Singapore. I like the Karaokes, but I cannot sing and going to one on your own is just no fun at all and they probably are more expensive in Singapore than other asian countries. Anyway, only got one night so won't be spending to much time screwing around looking for someone to screw around with.

Kman, Some people obviously think so, but news to me, somebody should have told the director of Pearl harbour as I think I heard it there as well a few times. Would have thought the audience there was a little larger than the audience here as well, but I could be wrong, would'nt be the 101st time. You Yank you.

Many people have used the term "Jap" in a negative or condescending way which is the way most Japanese take it as well. Yes, it may have moved from the bigoted usage to common everyday usage but on the receiving end, it is still not appreciated. Nope, not PC, just Japanese. My use of the term "Jap" was to indicate a knowledge and understanding of your use. My name sounds Aussie? But then again, if you don't understand the negative impact of your use of the term "Jap", I can understand why you don't know any better. For future reference, both "Ichiro" and "Tokugawa" are Japanese names. As far as being on the internet and being cool, I was part of the development group that created IPv6 and even though the developpers from the various different countries that participated in the project were from virtually evey country in the world and yet we were able to respect each others homeland and heritage, am I wrong to expect the same thing here? If someone took offence at something, would you not respect that? As far as the Japanese only clubs in BKK, as with Japanese style clubs in other parts of the world, if you understood the type of entertainment and environment inside, you probably wouldn't want to enter anyway. Although BKK seems to be different in this regard, most Japanese style clubs DO allow non-Japanese inside although more often than not the non-Japanese that do go inside end up causing problems as they expect it to be the same as every other club they have been in before. "Nearly Christmas" I may be Buddhist but even I know that the next Christmas is almost 11 months away, what calendar do you go by? ;) "Chill out"? I didn't get hot. I just thought that maybe you didn't understand how negatively the term you used is perceived by the people of whom you referred to and that you might care. If not, Dozo Bozo. Ichi

K-Man - For your reference, yes, a Japanese person being called a "Jap" or hearing the reference is not a good thing. As far as yourself being called a "Yank", up to you, do you find it offensive? If you don't, no problem but if you do, wouldn't you wish for people with whom you hope to share mutual respect to in turn respect how you wish you or your counrty of origin to be addressed? If one were to use the terms "LBFM" or "LBTT" probably a large group of people would be up in arms. But, those terms refer to Thai women, not an entire country. Ichi

Smegs, just to add that 'whale killers' are Norwegians, shit I am sorry in advance if I've pissed orf any norwegians, I'll buy you a dolphin burger and a beer next time in Los. Booma, hey sorry if it pisses/annoys/upsets you by that term. But to be honest, it is just a shortening of your full nationality to me Japanese-Jap etc. It is like in Australia, plenty of PC people (politicly correct) get pissed of with 'blackfellas' etc, well I have had many blacfella mates and when the 'actual' people don't give a shit and call themselves the same and us 'whitefellas' why should some turkey with a pencil up his arse give a shit. One of my best friends was called 'black george' and guess what, he was black as and he certainly did not give a shit. Anyway, all I am trying to say that is not all people who use the term you are offended by use it in a bad term, so unless you know for sure that I or anyone are using it in a derogitory manner, then maybe it is better to say nothing. If I added f#cken #aps or such, you could suppose I meant it as a negative term to yourself or whoever. Anyway next time your in Bkk maybe I can buy you a beer and you can take me into a Japanese only place full of the cutest and horniest little babes in Bkk, well not all, but some are thats for sure. Then I could buy a ridiculously priced drink that I could get elsewhere for a tenth of the price, but I would have a smile on my dial and hand on my gland.

So you guys mean that if I say "He is a pooftaah" people will know what I am talking about. Is it a common English slang word? Or used only in some English speaking places? I lived in the USA and never heard it. Well, I am sure that there are a lot of slang words used there that I never heard... hmmmm.... maybe it was the kind people I hanged out with -too plain vanilla. duck has a point that a lot has to do with the initial intention on the use of the word. Like when one uses one suck kind of word with a friend. One is not intending to offend, and the friend who is used to that and knows it, takes it well. On the other hand, that same person could take offense if called the same thing from a stranger. So, it is not the word as such that offends, but the connotation it may have due to who is coming from and the intention for its use. However, no matter how used a person might be at being on the receiving end of such words. Say the guy who is called by all his friends "fat Billy" (he is a huge motherfu*ker who can not tie his shoes). The truth is that Billy would let all his friends call him that and may not mind because he has heard it for years and is so used to it already that he doesn't make a fuss. But I would bet money that deep down, although Billy's friends mean no harm, Billy would prefer not to be fat and would also prefer not to be reminded every time someone calls his name.
