chrisboy,
Is the usual ST rate for China girls still $80? That was the going rate at Geylang at, well, about a year to 18 months ago. I was also quoted $200 for 2-girl, ST.

I'm aware that some of the China girls charge higher, even in Geylang.

yes.. the going rate for the Chinese gals in Geylang are still around the $80 catagory, some may be less.

but geylang is frequented mainly by locals, u don see farangs roaming the coffee shops looking for P4P.

like a TG in BKK....she may ask B1000 for a ST in beergarden, but when she dresses up all pretty in CM2, Spasso or Hard Rock cafe later in the nite, her going rate will rocket to B3000-4000.

well.... perhaps we have to pay more for packaging!!

its not the wrapper that counts....more inportant is whats inside that box!

Report from Today newspaper (Singapore) dated Sunday 10 June 2007 :-

312 clubs opt to go smoke-free
=======================

89 nightspots to set aside areas for smokers

THEY were given the choice of setting aside special areas for smokers, but 312 nightspots so far — that is, one in three — have decided to go entirely smoke-free, come July 1.
.
Another 89 have indicated that they will build smoking rooms or designate outdoor smoking areas. In all, 900 businesses, including pubs and bars, KTV lounges and discotheques, will have to make a choice either way once the smoking ban is extended to entertainment outlets.
.
Those that have chosen to make patrons stub out entirely are mostly smaller establishments.

Going smoke-free even ahead of the ban has been Royal Plaza on Scotts' bar Heat Ultralounge, since the hotel re-opened in January following renovations.
.
"We thought it would be a good move because more people are asking for non-smoking rooms. There has also been no dip in revenue since," said a spokesperson from Royal Plaza on Scotts.
.
Yet, most of the bigger boys on the party scene said it was not as easy for them to go 100 per cent smoke-free indoors and outdoors.
.
Mr Bernard Lim, executive vice-president of LifeBrandz which runs Ministry of Sound at Clarke Quay, said: "You can't compare us with those 300 over outlets. They are probably smaller outlets and it's more cost-effective for them. We see 3,000 people on one night. Can you imagine 1,000 people walking in and out of a club to smoke? Operationally, it just doesn't make sense."
.
He added that given that one third of their patrons are smokers, business could be affected by up to 20 per cent, based on similar overseas experiences of total smoking bans.
.
His club will have up to six glass-partitioned indoor smoking rooms, complete with air purifiers, at a cost of $250,000.
.
Marketing manager of Attica, Ms Amanda Ng, similarly estimated that the club would "probably lose 20 per
cent of traffic flow" if an indoor smoking room was not set up.
