The funny thing is that you do not need a contact list. When I was in Manila last month I could not leave the Outback or walk through Glorietta Mall without being hit on my several girls or thier pimps.

Like China Sailor, I was in Makati last month, but unlike hime I was not mobbed by women, unless you count the lady boys on Makati Avenue! Maybe I just ain't got it!
I preferred to hang out at the Greenbelt, which is very nice for food and people watching. But it was quiet for mongering. Not a lot of choice, but I managed to get a few tasty ones.
Still, there's always Burgos Street or the notorious LA Cafe. I like the Filling Station in Burgos Street. It's not a girlie bar although you get a lot of freelancers there. Odd things seem to happen there when you roll in at 4am with a belly full of beer. Good food too.

I usually visit Thailand regularly but with the Thai crackdown and rising prices in Thailand Im looking to spending my 2004 vacation in the Phillipines. Sorry to sound a little 'in the dark' about this but are the Phillipines generally safe for westerners and are there specific 'no-go' areas?

OH MY WORD! what a place!. Spent a week of heaven in Angeles City. Having been a dedicated Thai lover for 2 years I have finally found a hidden jewel to rival Thailands bygone excesses. This kind of place has a life changing effect on your outlook on life. WOW!
