I have read all the Manila posts and I am trying to get some more specific info. I will be in Manila for a few days. I am only going there to see the military sites at Bataan and Corregidor and hopefully get out to Fort Drum, at least to float buy it. I study coastal artillery installations and this is my grail.
However, I would like to sample the P4p at night and want to do it on budget at LOS prices. I am looking for recommendations where I can stay (with access to the docks for the tour boats) and it is good to play (Ermita or Makati). Safety is also a big factor. I am primarily interested in freelancers and young ones. No BGs or Mps.
Thanx for any help. I will write a good field report.

Be sure to hit the LA cafe -- the best place in town for FL's, 24/7. I've also heard good reports about the G Spot Bar in old Ermita, only 4 blocks from the LA cafe.

I visited Corregidor in 95'....I rented a Cessena 152 from the Clark Aero Club in Angeles. Landed it on the runway at Corregidor.
Someone had kept the runway cleared but it has overgrown on the sides with grass and stalks almost 5-6' tall.
You can really feel the histroy as you walk around the bunkers and trails. It's a great palce to spend an afternoon walking around.
I would not recommend picking up young freelancers in Manila or Angeles. Lot's of scams and young girls crying rape in your room is one of them. I feel safer taking a bar girl or hostess. I have picked up girls working in the stores at the Shoemart Mall but they were late 20's.
I've stayed at Swagman in Manila but it's not close to the water. It was a decent room priced at $40.

I went to Corregidor back in 1990 when I was in the navy. It was the best tour I ever went on. I agree with texasfarang 100%, you can feel the history. The island was really untouched back then, as if the war ended 10 years before.
I passed through Manila, but never stayed the night. I spent plenty of time in Olongapo though.

For FL's try Cafe Havana in the Greenbelt, upmarket place but LOS prices. Very safe.

Have to agree with Cafe Havana. Was there last November and the place was packed with FLs after 11pm ( and the live music wasn't bad either).
Had a quick visit to Manila this weekend just gone. From Hong Kong I decided to fly with Cebu Pacific because they were HK$1000 cheaper than Cathay! They only fly twice a day which is a slight drawback but I took the evening flight so I didn't have to take any time off work. the plane took off on time, which was no small achivement bearing in mind some experiences with Philippine Airlines. Even better was arriving in manila earlier than scheduled, having no queues at immigration counter, and having no peak hour traffic to deal with.
Stayed at City Garden Hotel, Makati. Single room with queen-size bed, cable TV, was 1900 pesos plus plus. Place had a rooftop pool and restaurant. Absolutely girlfriendly. I decided on Sunday night that my bed was big enough for three so teed up two girls from a bar called Hollywood. One came with me when I left and no questions at all.. just into the lobby and into the lift. Second girl arrived after the bar closed and reception rang my room to see if I was expecting her. Very much so, I replied, and they said "OK sir, we'll send her right up". And I'm sure someone is going to ask. Yes, the rooms have safes.
Hollywood not a bad bar... 15 dancers and about 20 GRO girls. They have VIP rooms you can use with the girls. From what I can work out, there's no charge to use the room (s) until you make the decision to close the curtain.
I'm a big fan of Bottoms bar which plays good music and there is some very nice looking girls there. They have a smoking room there (no charge) and if one of the girls invites you in there, don't say you don't smoke... just go. There are private rooms upstairs at a price. What put me off Bottoms a bit on Saturday night, was buying five drinks for one of the girls and then having to pay a full barfine on top of that. One of the mamasans just said it was bar policy and just shrugged her shoulders when I pointed out that all the other bars deducted the drinks off the bar fine.
Ladies drinks in Makati are 300 pesos. Heinekens are 230 pesos a pop and local San Mig was 130 pesos in some bars and 150 in others. Generally the girls are happy with 2000-3000 pesos afterwards. I paid my dynamic duo in Hong Kong dollars yesterday morning, explaining I was out of pesos. One girl was a bit dubious but the other girl said it was OK and she told the first one that the exchange rate was 7 to 1. I did a quick field test and she rattled off the current rate for the seven currencies I mentioned.
There's a place called Club Mugumbo justa round the corner from Club Hollywood and they served up a reasonable Shepherd's Pie. Oh, one final thing. There is a massage facility at the airport upstairs but from what I could see didn't seem much of an opportunity for a happy ending. The woman I had made some oblique suggestions between giggles. I said something about her husband and she pointed out that he wasn't there and I was. Had a quick glance around and there were a couple of cubicles in the corner. Next time I'll check it out and take the 1000 pesos fully body massage and make sure I give myself plenty of time before the boarding call.
