411 is pretty quiet, 3rd or 4th floor on the front rear seems to be the quietest. There is construction going on with a new condo/hotel next door, so if you are on that side you get to hear the sound of hammers starting from 8am. I forget the room numbers on that side though, I believe they start low... Just ask to be on the other side when you check in, and not be on the ground floor if it can be helped. They seem to pre-block all arrival rooms though so you might have to wait a night to move over if they have you on the construction side. Then again, I talked with several other guys there and they never noticed any noise so you might not either. Hmmm, most of the exterior work might be done by the time you get here anyways. Like I said before, the pool is comfy and the food is great (24 hr room service avail to). It's a great location, you're just a few steps from Fields and can always hit one of those nasty shorttime bars on Santos as you walk over. Just avoid the first one you see on the corner on hotel's street, it's full of lb's (unless that's your preference).
I flew in from Singapore on Tiger, right into Clark. Love avoiding Manila. Dunno if their are direct flights from Thailand to Clark though.
Dunno what you are bringing for cash (Pac Breeze accepts all major cc's btw), but traveler's cheques are a hassle (you can only cash them at 2 places: The Tourist Center by Chow King, or Banco ORO in SM Clark Mall. Tourist Center wants to see a copy of your TC receipt, and Banco ORO has a 2 cheque limit per customer). Most ATM's here are crap (4k or 5kp transaction limit), but RCBC Bank and Security Bank on McArthur let you take out at least 10k p in a single transaction (RCBC let me take 20k in 1 shot but the money jammed in the damn ATM, had to get the security guards to help me get it out, d'oh!). Those are the ones I use because I'm on the Plus network, if you are on Cirrus there are looooads of ATM's around. There are a bunch of money changers on Fields down by ChowKing if you want to exchange USD.
