LY, we all have moments of less than perfect attentiveness, or just plain stupidity. None of us are immune, you too I'm sure. So cut a guy a break.
The thing is, LOS tends to lull me into an exaggerated sense of security, because it is so rare that something like this happens there, or I/we would all be on our guard more than we are. In fact, I struggle to think of a single time when anything has happened to me along those lines.
I have had my pockets picked in Madrid in broad daylight, I have been mugged at night on the beach in Rio (with my shoulder dislocated in the effort), I have had my money stolen in Phnom Pen through a "locked" door while I was doing the nasty, I have had all my camera equipment stolen in Mexico City at the airport, I have had my bicycle shoes stolen through an open window at night in Vietnam, I have been threatened on the streets of South Africa but escaped without harm.
The worst that has happened to me in LOS is that I have bought too many LDs and an aggressive LB took some liberties with my nuts on PTY beach road once. I would like to think that I would be more careful in Manila or AC, but I might have to remind myself a few times, because old habits die hard under deceptively familiar surroundings.

I usually shower with the door open so I can see any movements in the room
I am pretty cautious though, after hearing of friends getting their things stolen out of their pants while in a BG's shack, apparently the boyfriend or accomplice hides under the bed or other such shifty things

Ooops, took me awhile to answer.
As for 'giving me shit', I'll be the first to admit that I deserve to have a whole bucketful dumped on me. I did indeed leave her alone in the room to go get a glass of water. I was staying in a room with a separate bedroom and living area, so in the 14 seconds or so it took me to get the water, she had pawed through my luggage and located my treasures. Again, I must put on the dunce cap for not checking through my stuff before escorting her downstairs.
Earlier, I blamed Thai girls for being too nice and trustworthy, but the reality is that I'm just a dumbass!
Live and learn (at least, that's the plan).

Yea, live and learn, take reasonable precautions, use that in-room safe, that's what it's there for, and at least don't leave your valuables lying around or in easily accessible luggage, but DON'T get all paranoid and overly careful, or it takes the fun out of the whole thing.
As for LY's leaving the door open when he is in the bathroom... I confess I tend to do that too, but I have yet to worry about a boyfriend hiding under the bed. Yikes! 
I try to make sure that I only have as much money on me, or openly in the room, as I am willing to spend/lose that night. And I put ipods and phones away or in my clothes in the bathroom with me. I have checked a few times to see that everything was still there (never with any problem in SOL).
My biggest concern (cost wise) is camera equipment, so I have a lock on the bag, but no guarantee if they want to walk off with the entire thing. Yet, so far, so good.

This place is really great. I landed in Manila early in the morning at 4:35 AM, after a quick ride to the hotel and check-in, I was holding my first beer at LA Cafe by 5:30 AM and surrounded by a few Filipinas. However, they were not the best looking ones, more like leftovers from the night before. So, I just waited for a bit. Interestingly, there were girls coming in, early in the morning, and soon one caught my eye, and I had her over for a drink. She ordered a glass of milk!! We played a few games of pool, she claimed to be good at it and that she would beat me. After 4 games, she gave up, and said, let's f***!
After a quick breakfast, at the Robinson Plaza complex, we strolled down to the hotel. In the room, we took a shower, she followed me to the bathroom while I took my shower. When it was her time to take her shower, I quickly set aside the amount I was prepared to pay her, and stuffed the rest of the cash in my bag. This girl came prepared with condoms, she poured a whole bunch out of her bag....

My eyes popped out, wow, are we going to use all that?!  This girl gave a great BBBJ especially with that long tongue of hers. When I first met her at the bar, she was showing off her tongue, she could touch her nose and and her chin with her tongue. And boy, could she f***. It was a great morning workout,  nice natural  to hang on too as well. After shooting my load,  I cleaned up and took a nap with her wrapped around me. And she told me, she was ready for more. I was satisfied. And we parted our ways. In retrospect, it was kinda funny that they girl stole "her own" money, well, the amount that I had prepared in my trouser pocket was all for her anyway.

Nice post BK.  She seems to have a very eclectic collection of condoms.
As for her stealing her own money, am I just stupid, or naive, but I just don't think something like that would happen in LOS (with the exception of LBs). Okay, I'm not saying never, but almost, enough not to really worry about it. And I like that. Not worrying about it.
By the way, when did it happen? Not clear on when she would have had the opportunity.

Later that evening, I am back in LA Cafe, and the waitress who served me in the morning sees me, exclaims "you again". This time we head upstairs. It's open from 9 pm till 3-4 am. There's a cover charge of 150 P. No drinks included but there is a lucky draw, nothing worth winning anyway. Tyler Durdin is in town. He meets me there for a few drinks with a TG in tow. The only TG in LA Cafe I might add. What's the difference between TGs and Filipinas? Physically, most Filipinas have nice natural tits, but they have the belly, which I attribute to the Jolly Bee diet. So, we have come up with the Jolly Bee Belly number. 0 for flat stomach, 5 would be way too much for us, so we didn't bother with girls higher on that scale.
All night long, we were only looking for 0-2 on the JBB scale. By midnight, there were more and more Filipinas appearing and soon I found one a candidate for the night. This time a petite body was the flavor of the night and she was a 1 on the JBB scale. But this girl was with her friend and they were good to go for 1,500 P each ST. I didn't really want to stretch myself as I've had a rigorous week in BKK prior to coming to Manila, so I settled for just one. My buddy had made his choice, so we left at about 2 am, but I made a short detour to a Shisha place for a short Shisha session.
