I found Cebu to be a dump of a place unless you stay at a beach side resort, the only public beach I looked at was not up to much. It would appear the reort beach's have mported sand which is cared for daily.
The only nice beaches I've seen on my travels are way the north of Manila, La Union and Illocos Norte spelling?
Other posters may recommend others.

Boracay is definitely a nice beach area, However it is becoming very commercial. There are a few private beach areas nearby in Iloilo which is worth to check out. As they are IMHO, rival or surpass Boracay.

I know this will be off topic a bit, but after some research, it seems phillipines isn't as beautiful (environment and most importantly women) as Thailand. Or are the pictures I've seen just bad? It does seem to be a LOT cheaper though. Or are the girls just a matter of personal taste? Also, the girls seemed to be more "hardened" compared even to the most "hardened" TG I'v seen, can anyone give a first hand report?

the shades of filipinas. from white almost spanish looks to the dark, negro looks.
IMO some of the most beautiful girls in the world are the waitresses in the coffee shop at the Shangri La in makati. and of course, the students.
hardened?? don't think so. they are "sunny people", easy going.
cheaper?? my ass. maybe you went to "lower places".
ever seen the shows on roxas blv. with the naked college girls, tall and well curved?? business orientated, maybe, but hardened?? no.
al least, it was still like that last november.

It is certainly different, but very beautiful girls seem to be everywere maybe not as many as LOS plus the usual assorment of all types. IMHO (and to my eyes) the average Filipina women are more "average" than the TG's were all know and love. Certainly worth going, I have always been quoted a lot more (usually USD) with a lot wider variation in prices than LOS as there was historically a lot more part timers and FL's. Not that I was interested of course!

a bit similar to phuket but filipino style. depending on the saeson plenty to nearly not many girls around. very laid back and much more cheaper than phuket.
quality wise for sure better girls around in phuket but sabang gives you the better unspoilt atmosphere!
