actually, it seems that the 4 following hotels ar around LA Cafe, Las Palmas, Executive Plaza, Pan Pacific and Hyatt.
I'm looking for hotel with inroom safe and girl friendly of course, as to bring girls from LA. If it has internet in the room, that would be perfect.

I do not believe Las Palmas and Executive Plaza have in-room safes. You would need to use the safe-deposit box at the desk, or some other method to secure your valuables.

A little off topic but want some advice from the experienced guys of SEA..
Well I have been living in Japan for the last 10yrs and have done extensive travel around Asia and am totally bummed out about the way Thailand is going.
Back in '89 it was a great place but maybe I was still only in my late teens so everything seems good then..
Anyway am digressing, my work now allows me to get the hell out of the Land of the Rising Sun for 3 months and then back for 3..
So since I have done little travel recently in SEA was thinking about where to choose for relaxation and still be able to work remotely.
Being 38 now am totally tired of the go go scene and never been real big on it anyway and usually like just going out and partying and meeting girls that way. IF there is a good atmosphere at a club or bar then usually find myself some company and more than often it is a non working chick. Yeah I know what ya all going to say but guess I have just been pretty lucky over the years or maybe my attitude scars the bar girls off
But the problem is the number of places outside of the metropolis of cities is limited as far as I know..
Thinking about these places, Bali, Phuket or Cebu. Yeah really want a relaxed lifestyle while I am out of Osaka with the beach and stuff like that..
Just want a good apartment (1K USD a month) close to the beach and with a good nitelife. But have not been to Cebu for many years and only time go to Bali is with the GF and stay at aman resort so didnt really see much of the scene there either.
Love Manila and Jakarta but not sure if I could rationalize going to a city..am sure my woman would just say stay in Japan no difference..ahhh
So if u had to work remotely and wanted to relax and have the availability of a decent clubs and party times where would u go??

At time when the tsunami hit, I was literally about to buy something in Khao Lak (Thailand), perfect in all respects for me. I have no idea if and how things have changed there since as I haven't been back yet.
Haven't either found an alternative to it. But have seriously considered buying a medium-sized condo in BKK as "pied-a-terre", rent out to foreign firms or embassies if I dont use it enough, or use this as my R&R crash-pad.
I've also been going to BKK since 1989 (!) and agree that it's changed much since, but not necessarily all for the bad. I don't consider I'm in the "mongering" business as understood by many here (no disrespect) but always keen on the many pleasures BKK still has to offer. I guess it's a matter of changing offerings for changing expectations on my part as well. I still believe BKK as a base would be nice.
I am now based in Manila and can't stand the place. Sure the girls speak better English and everybody believes it makes for better GFE - Not! Sure barfines are triple (even 6x?) BKK's, but that HAS to be justified by greater quality. Who's kiddin who here?!? In my opinion, the place is just a rip-off. Hotels are overpriced and sub-standard; food is terrible, in MNL as elsewhere around the country - deep-fried, fat, fast-food type junk. (By the way, has "anyone" "ever" seen a filipino restaurant "anywhere" outside the Philippines? There was one in Phnom Penh when a Filipino contingent was there with the UN - as soon as the Filipinos left, the restaurant went belly up (or rather guts in the bowl!). This has got to be the worst food anywhere in all of Asia!)
In short, I don't have an answer for you. But I'll let you know if I ever find Paradise II (after Khao Lak 3+ years ago), and please do same. Cheers!

I know cities are not what you are looking for, BKK can allow you to get to Pataya, Phuket and many other spots with little trouble and travel time. Otherwise Phuket might fit most of your checklist.

hi Wagie, I am currently in Manila, been here 20 or more trips over the last 12 or so years. Agree on the food, it sucks but there are many good non-Filipino restaurants in Manila that are both cheap & good.
Not sure where the 3-6 times Barfine is coming from though? Burgos is the highest of the regular foreigner places (yes you can pay more in a High End Gentleman's club like Pegasus) and it currently varies from 1900-3100 pesos in Burgos (1300 baht - 2150 Baht approx) but in most you do get to claim some (usually 3) of the Ladies Drinks that are usually around the 300 Peso Mark. The Lady usually gets a percentage of the Barfine (in one of the 3100 Peso Clubs she gets 1000 for the normal girls and the "better ones"can get 1,500), so expect a lot less than Bangkok. 1,500 to 2,000 Pesos is the norm for Long Time.
Then a place like EDSA Entertainment Plaza which is very much like NANA the Barfine is around 1,200 with again the Girl getting a percentage of this (600 seems to be the norm) and her expectation in the morning is less, say 500-1,000! Look there are exception to this as there is in Bangkok but these prices work.
The infamous LA Café has no Barfines as all the Girls are Freelancers of variable quality. The quantity means it is not impossible to find good looking ladies, just difficult sometimes. FL prices go from 500/800 ST to 1,000/1,500 LT always very negotiable!
This is without mentioning AC, which is a whole lot cheaper again!

Oz is right in his analysis of the pricing.
In my opinion, there is no doubt that Bangkok is a far more pleasant place than Manila. From taxi quality to food quality to traffic to hassle factor to general cleanliness, Bangkok is better. Much better. Just my opinion.
As for the girls looks and behavior; TGs vs. flippers - it is a matter of personal preference. For those who come to Thailand and wish the girls spoke better English, the Philippines are the answer to this problem. Flipper girls English is, for the most part, excellent.
I think the GFE from the Filipina girls CAN be better, but you have to answer 100 f***ing questions from a flipper for every one you get from a TG. Everything from your family to your job to your love history to your exact plans for your holiday. And this is in the first 10 minutes! 555 But this is because most of the flipper girls want a way out of the shithole place they live, and a punter might be the answer. Their English is great so they can (and want to) survive and thrive outside their country.
Most TGs are not interested in traveling outside Thailand. And this certainly applies to non-English speaking TGs. So they are not interested in you providing a ticket out.
But sometimes the fun you have with a TG is very GFE-like. Recently, I went bowling with a TG and her non-p4p sister-in-law and I had a blast. Spoke basic English and basic Thai, it was enough. Cost very little, these girls were interested in having fun, not sizing me up as a future husband. Our "date" involved only fun and laughs. Then the sister-in-law went home and "my girlfriend" came back with me and screwed me silly, slept all night in my arms and then woke me up in the morning for more sex before she left! A few days wages for the average Thai later and she was gone. 555 That is the Thai GFE. When she left, I think this TG thought "had fun with him, I hope he calls me again soon". Quite different than a flipper girl thinking "how am I going to get this guy to marry me and get me the f*** out of here!"
