Arriving in Manilla at approx 1830, another board member and myself step out of the PA's international terminal. We grab a taxi and head to the hotel in anticipation of another great adventure. I have never been to the PI before and my wing man has limited experience here. We arrive at the renaissance hotel in Makati 30 min later. The hotel is nice and located in a great area although the rooms were about 1/3 the size I am used to in BKK for twice the price. We are ushered up to our club level check in on the 24th floor and after cleaning up and squaring away coms(sim cards), we are off accross the street to the Greenbelt 3 mall.
Although we did do some shopping, clothes are not the main attraction here. There is an open courtyard in the middle and you are surrounded by a french cafe, starbucks, Seattle's best and the like. The crown jewel here is Cafe Havana. We arrived on a monday evening and at 9 pm... the place was slammed as it was every night after that. this place takes up about 1/3 of the courtyard with its tables and also has a modest inside area that hosts a band, air conditioning and bathrooms for those of us who enjoy our creature comforts. The food was very good and soon the drinks were flowing easily. After our dinner outside we move inside for a spot at the bar and some Air con during a slight lul as the evening dinner crowd started to give way to the late night bar crowd. We were not to be disappointed. The band was good although the theme music was more hispanic as the name of the place would suggest and not my fav. There were several dancing in the area in front of the band until the place became too packed to do so. If this style of dancing is your forte', I would suggest being there before 1030 or 11 pm as the talent starts rolling in. Later in the night they play dance music. Our favorite bar tender "Jane" deserves alot of the credit for us having a good time as all drinks were doubles and we never waited for service. If you stop in.. tell her M&M sent you. The talent was above par here and were not at all shy about their intentions. I had sever craning their necks just trying to make eye contact and other just walking up, grabbing may hand and stating "I'm going with you tonight". This place althoug fairly upscale and trendy in its appearance and location stills holds a bit of a seedy, back alley feeling late night when its full of talent looking for prey. Around 1 am we started asking some of the girls if they knew of any "after hours" establishments. 2 said they did so we paid the bill, grabbed them.. and headed to "Nirvana"....... to be continued.

be careful cafe havana sunday nights - ladyboy night
also starbucks next to shangri-la like 11pm / 3am (its 24hrs) has some cuteys on occassion - that was back when conways let the girls into the shangri-la - they all went to starbucks after, but seems now shangri-la is stricter so they dont go

Moving on, My wing man and I grabbed a taxi with the talent we met in havana and rolled up to "Nirvana". A large G-club type place with a cover band, dancers that you could pay to have come sit with you if you like, A large dance floor in front of the stage and seating for about a thousand. Huge place with a crowd that did not do it justice. In its defense we were there on a monday night and there may have been 100 or more people there but the place is so massive it seemed empty. We were not there long before one of the dancers caught my wing mans eye and he f***ed off to talk with her. After spending about 15 min trying to explain to the girls we had with us where he was, I gave them some taxi money and politely told them that he had seen an old friend here and wanted to catch up with her. They thanked me and left about the time he was coming back with dancer in tow. We had ordered a bottle there and the girls were not into gin, so in true fashion we had to finish it by ourselves.... adding this to what we had already consumed at havana meant this was turning into a long night. we check bin'd there after a few digit exchanges and ask around about what would be open even later. We were told to go check out "Cowboy Grill" so we headed off in search of a new place about 4 am. Nirvana had some really hot girls working there as dancers.. not sure if any or all are on the gimick and available for outcall... probably like the G clubs in bangkok.. some are, some are not, but whatever the case its going to be much more expensive than normal. I would go back on a weekend and check the place out. Just so so in my opinion right now.... "Cowboy Grill" in the next segment....
