Here's an example of the inadequacy and downright unprofessionalism displayed in the so called dictionary quoted above. ABC, pls tell me what site you got this from so I can raise hell with the author. The entry under Violet Wand says that the Wand produces static electricity. THIS IS NOT TRUE. A violet wand is a Tesla coil plugged into AC mains (110 V 60 Hz in USA, 220 V 50 Hz most other places) and produced RADIO FREQUENCY ALTERNATING CURRENT. RF is not benign. There are many restrictions on its use if such use is to be safe. Furthermore, the only fail-safe way to use this or any other mains powered toy for electrical play is with an isolation transformer between the toy and the mains source (wall socket.) However when this subject comes up many Scene people ask "What's an isolation transformer?" which to me means that technical ignorance is sufficiently pervasive that the Violet Wand is IMHO NOT a safe toy. We do not use it at Chateau Jade. PES, Folsom and the generic medical TENS units are battery powered and are safe when used below the waist. Folsom has special nipple clamps that when used with their PSG-MAX box ONLY are safe above the aist, they cannot interfere with the sinus rythm of the heart. We do use Folsom at CJ. (But we no longer use the nipple electrodes.)

There are many other entries in that "dictionary which are erroneous, incomplete or just about as doctrinaire as bolshevism (and not everyone subscribes to their doctrine). However, the Violet Wand one is just plain both wrong and unsafe. RF can cause burns. RF interacts with metal objects so piercings with metal rings, barbells etc are contraindicated. RF should not be used around body cavities. RF MUST not be used around the head as it can and will cause cararacts (in the lenses of the eyes) resulting in blindness. THIS IS NOT STATIC ELECTRICITY. Some authorities particularly the Swedish Government link RF to brain cancer. The Violet Wand is a copy of a 1930s/40s quack medical device used to electro-massage the scalp as a baldness remedy. After banning by FDA, production was discontinued. Reintroduced by one small California company as a SM sex toy, but earlier versions still exist and find their way into use. Some have dangerous wax cores which melt during anything but intermittent use. NEVER USE ANYTHING FOR ELECTRICAL PLAY THAT PLUGS INTO THE WALL unless you have an isolation transformer and KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. Electrical play done improperly can and does kill people.

That term gets used in different ways by different Dommes. It can mean prostate massage in combination with other techniques to accentuate orgasm. It can mean prostate massage combined with ice and other techniques to drain sperm without orgasm. Pls be more specific, perhaps by PM as most people on this board are not interested in the Scene -- except to be kibbitzers from the sidelines, something not welcomed.
