When I say better deal, I mean that the girls are usually far better trained with a sincere interest in domination. In my view, two hours with a Japanese domina is worth 12 wiith a Thai girl/ prostitute given a whip. Thai people do some things very well: they have great food, a great tolerance for difference, a liberal attitude and a generous spirit, but I am not convinced by the performances of their dominas.

Pricing Japan versus Thailland: Part 2
The best value in Japan can be obtained in bars such as Tokyo Goddess, Sugar Heel and the Mistress Bar. At these bars, it is possible to play with Mistresses (yes, there are several Mistresses!) for between 5, 000 and 10, 000 yen an hour (10, 000 yen = $ 100 (US). Free drink is thrown in.
Given that Midori charges $200 US for three hours for 2 dommes, the better deal is in Japan.
The prices for individual mistresses in Japan for private sessions are more expensive, but far from unaffordable.
Look forward to hearing about Rio, though not sure this forum is the right place.

I think you are certainly right: the Japanese are into sm in a very big way. However, the Thai situation is not helped by something - very difficult to put into words or pin down - about the Thai character. In my experience in Thailand, the women have no real commitment to female supremacy or even feminism. Their main aim is to please MEN. Accordingly, the sm practised in Thailand lacks authenticity and, it must be said, the Thai women's acting is often very poor.

I think you'll find CJ's is in a class of it's own, relative to Thai s/m, as the Doms there are real, and not actresses. He has a high standard for his ladies, based on feedback from customers I've talked to who've been there.

Sorry for the delay, but I didn't notice your question.
In my opinion, sm is more available to foreigners than most other activities in Japanese life.
For non-Japanese speakers, life can be very trying in Tokyo. For example, restaurants, even in multiracial Shinjuku, have no English translations. The workers at train stations are often shy or plain rude. In addition, there is no tourist industry as such and there probably never will be in spite of all the wonderful things to see and do in Japan. By way of contrast, the sm scene is far more open than most other spheres of Japanese life. There are at least 10 clubs/ Mistresses in Shinjuku and Roppongi alone willing to see foreigners.
In summary, enjoy life in Thailand and enjoy SM in Japan.
