As jazzngolf said, it was SoL that had the cutouts (and curtains) under each spot at the bar. During one of the 'crackdowns' under Purachai, Khun Vichai, may he rest in peace, decided it was a good time to remodel, and got rid of the cutouts as a concession to the police inspectors. They also got rid of the small bedroom that used to be where the sink and urinal are now.
Funniest thing seen at SoL:
A fairly shy guy took his girl into what was then the bed room, and started doing his thing. The room was shabily constructed out of fairly thin plywood, with a bare naked lightbulb on the ceiling for illumination. Since it was lighter inside than in the dimly-lit bar, you could see rays of light coming through the cracks wher the plywood was not well joined. The girls had a habit of peeking through those cracks and making jokes about what was taking place inside. The guy somehow overheard them, and saw that they were peeking, so he removed his black socks, and placed one of them over the lightbulb on the ceiling. Within a few minutes, the f***ing sock caught fire, and nasty-smelling fumes and smoke came billowing out of the room, along with the girl and guy, sans trousers! No permanent damage, but a truly hilarious scene at SoL that day.
Alas, that little room is gone now...

i visited there in august this year and it was all same same just the price was up 900 baht as I recall.
The cut out was still there as was the porn, I generally go in the morning so I was the only punter.

Used to be you could get the BJ for 350 & you tip the girl 150 for not using a condom.
now they charge you 500 for the BJ & the gal wants 500b tip, what a load of shit.
you can get blown cheaper in Soi 6 & a lot more variety around.

I have been reading many posts regarding the pump station and the postoffice (why is it called a postoffice?), but never could make out much about the setup there. Just curious to know how it compares to SOL in patpong, where I had a mind blowing experience.
I havent visited pattaya yet, but planning to go on my next visit.
