Only found out about this today, seated at the bar, talking to my favorite. I had wondered why I hadn't seen him for a while, and she told me he had just passed on the 30th. The bar will close today at 5PM and everybody will go to the Wat for ngaan sop. I extended my sympathies to his widow...
Vichai was a great person, and will be missed. RIP.

Star of Light back to full blast today after having closed yesteday for the ceremony.
Stopped for three evenings and a day for a man close to their hearts and then back to full throttle with the customers the next day. That takes some strength and courage to come through all that and then just go on as if nothing had happened.
I admire each one of those girls.

The best bar in Bangkok.
The best ladies.
And I'll miss the best papasan around.
He was a really good guy.
The ladies have been broken up over his passing.
And it has been a hard time for them all, especially the Mamasan and the girls who have known him for some years.
May he rest in peace.
And may the Star of Light bounce right back to functioning as he always envisaged.
The ladies were doing just that yesterday.
I admire their fortitude and determination and loyalty.
I truly love them all.
And yes, thanks Joe for the beer and for letting me know so soon.
Still, I am sorry I missed him before he went.
I'll have to go down and cheer some of those ladies up.

My condolences to everyone who knew and loved Khun Vichai.
I was at SOL yesterday and *** told me about the past week at the bar. It was business as usual yesterday though I definitely noticed a more subdued atmosphere and some sad looks on faces.
I took *** out of the bar and enjoyed her services for a couple of rounds. The elusive P** was also present yesterday too. Unfortunately (for me) she was already talking with another customer when I arrived. She did give me a hello smile though and a "Sorry but I'm already taken" look too. A shame. A *** and P** duo is something I've yet to experience.

If you go to Patpong 2 on Suriwonge road, walk up the narrow covered walkway that runs right next to the soi.
This will take you about half-way down the soi towards Silom, until it turns back into the proper soi of Patpong 2.
Don't take that turn right, into the soi, because you have just passed Star of Light on your left.
Just look at the table outside with some of the girls usually sitting at it, possibly eating or having a laugh. They'll welcome you and usher you in to heaven.
If you are coming from the Silom Road end, walk down Patpong 2, past the luggage cases, past the massage parlour and go-go bar, cross the entrance and exit to the car park, keep on walking past Foodland and the pavement / sidewalk takes a turn to narrow the roadway of the soi. Keep on walking on that side past a few bars. Then the pavement or sidewalk turns to the right of you to take you down the covered walk-way that runs parallel to the remainder of Patpong 2. At that junction, on your right you will see the Star of Light shining on you. The girls at the table outside will greet you and invite you in to heaven and to the temptations of their fruit.
Reward them handsomely, because they will give you everything that you desire and more. Good luck.
