I think one of the keys is they tend to work where their friends are. They hear about a place from people they know and go work there. Soon they feel comfortable have established relationships with other girls there and would be hesitant to move.

Sorry for off topic, but are you talking about the shophouses on Suk Soi 78?
I was on that soi around 6.30-ish recently and saw the shops and girls. At first I thought they were standard Thai style karaoke places, but a couple had the doors open and they weren't set up like that. I wondered if they were basically Thai style brothels.

Come on, it's common sense. You and I wouldn't work harder, for less money if we knew there was another easier option that paid 3-5 times as much money for less work, would we? Neither do the girls. You see the proof in the bars. As soon as they hear of, and get brave enough to try, other options, they take them.
That's why you don't see the cute ones who left back at Lolita's. Bad conditions, boss, whatever, pissed them off enough to walk out. They tried massage places. They discovered it was much better work - easier, more flexible, less work for more money.
I'll ask you a question: Why do you get mostly old/fat troggs at bj bars, especially compared to other bars?

Sometimes, it isn't as straight-forward as the girl through her own devices having found a place to work.
If the arrangement has been to work off a debt or loan, part of the unspoken agreement may be that she works at that establishment for the appropriate length of time to pay off the money.
Quite possibly she would like very much to move but feels that she cannot, since it is an unspoken but assumed part of the condition of the loan and the paying back of it that she works at that establishment.

I have been reading through the posts about Dr BJ's on this forum and they are completely different to what all the other shagging forums say. Refreshing really.

I agree for the real down and out filth lover, Dr BJ's is not the place, but for the guy that is wanting a clean smart and sexy, not dirty, dark, public and voyeuristic time Dr BJ's gets the thumbs up.
If you speak to the Scotsman that own's the place, who aptly is named "BJ" he will point out the reasoning for him opening it, but he points it out in a more polite way.
Lollitas is a poo hole.
Lollipop is a carbon copy of lollitas and sometime soon will be a poo hole.
SOL, is too open and offers no privacy, as well as being a poo hole.
All the places mentioned above do not have the option of finding a nice looking girl to do the deed, unless you are so so lucky and just pop in at that perfect time and get that odd one. Noted that the odd pretty one that worked in Lollita's and/or lollipop now work in Dr BJ's anyway.
This place works for guys like me, as in, those that want a quick drop off point but do not want to feel like you are walking into a dump and want the job done by a better looking bird than what you would normally find in a BJ pit. So what if to get a good looking piece, you may need to pay out a few extra pieces of coin, better than letting an horse faced crone do it.
Soi 7/1 is now alive again, as the soi was going through a bad stage and Dr BJ's seems to be the focal point of this.

I've only been to Dr BJ's once. There had to be at least 15 girls there at the time. I saw a few girls I recognised but I didn't see any usable ones. They were all too old/fat/plain for my taste. About the best I saw was an ex Lolita's girl, an ok face and young but, despite having lost weight, I know she's popped 2 kids already and I'm a fussy bastard. Maybe 1 but not 2! 
The other bj bars aren't that much better for talent at the moment but, from one visit, I actually thought this one was a little below par, not above. The decor, etc, is fine.

I have never based a total opinion on a place with a one off walk in, as you only get a snapp shot. Also points in time make a difference, some places seem to keep most of the staff for evenings, I assume because they get more clients then and on the other hand, some keep them for mornings etc. Sometimes when you walk into a place, they are busy, so there is not much candy to look at when you walk in.
Added to this, I said, “Noted that the odd pretty one that worked in Lollita's and/or lollipop now work in Dr BJ's” so by default when I mentioned, “ the odd pretty one” from these places, that there was like about 2-3 of them, and I have now seen at Dr BJ's, if you have ever seen more than the odd few at Lollipop/lollitas then your tastes are much much lower than mine.
It seems for the most, this place has great reviews on all forums and from my experiences is way way above the rest. YMMV but this is just my opinion and 90% of the other forums about shagging in Bangkok. It is just my views nothing else. I like one place you will like another.

I'm beginning to believe you've got more than a punter's interest. I read most of the forums you mention and I haven't noticed everyone concurring about Dr BJ at all! E.g. Take 'lumpini', a frequenter customer of bj bars. He keep saying he now likes Lollipop the best. Others still like Lolita's still. And SoL has its die-hard supporters. So what are you talking about?!
Sure, Dr BJ has nice decor and it's clean and it's got a friendly boss. People seem to concur on that and I'd agree. But I've seen lots of other guys post that they didn't find any lookers.

I doubt it. 'EVER'? Maybe you're just not around all the time? A few years ago, for example, Lolita's had Neung, May (called 'Nii' there), Kung, etc, all working at the same time. I think most guys who knew them would say they were lookers. They were young, slim, cute, good bodies, without kids. They could have danced in Rainbow or Baccara. I didn't see anything like that at Dr BJs. It was one visit but it looked like it was a full house. To be fair, there aren't really many cuties left at Lolita's or Lollipop now either (maybe 1 each) but I thought Dr BJ had even fewer. Maybe that'll change as girls get more confident about its viability. I know the ex-Lolita's girls prefer the cleanliness.
