Regarding the May 15 holiday brother Yurune mentioned something interesting in another thread. The holiday is officially over at midnight. Would the bars be allowed to open and start serving alcohol again at 12:01 even if they are only open for 1 hour 59 minutes? Are the bars even closed in the first place or are they just not allowed to serve alcohol? Anyone know? Peace

its not rocket science as they say, lol. But he has been here for several years and you would think he would know better by know, but he gets wasted and does stupid things. Started at 10am and sometime in the arvo moved into the bj bar and with 6 girls and drinks and repeated shots, both full service out the back and in the main room. They even gave him a couple of freebies, shots I mean, for his efforts and expense, in the end he departed and went home at 3am, girls were telling him to go home earlier because he had spent to much already.
He is a really nice guy, just he needs to curb his alcohol which leads to this activity and expense, lol, but as they say its his life. Nobody tells me what to do and I don't lecture others either, although some advice just goes in one ear and out with the little head.
It amazes me his stamina even after so much piss and he never forgets what he does no matter how pissed he is.

I must admit, I go on a splurge once in a while wheather I'm in LOS or at home.

i have no knowledge of BKK or Pattaya,but on Phuket a lot of bars were open on Holidays and Election days.
most of theGo-Go's closed and bars which were open did not sell alcohol
i was told by owners that while they were not banned from selling alcohol,the Police advised them 'nicely' that it might not be a good idea.
but there are ways around it if you really want a drink and the company of a BG.
as i found out on 2 holidays.

Certainly when i lived in Phuket we used to eagerly await 12:01......but as nokna said often it's not a law but advice from the police. I know some bars in BKK that never take the advice but do tend to keep things quieter....they all serve food so that is their get out.
But I've never had a day where you cannot get a beer somewhere and certainly if it's girls you want...easily done

as Yurune says the 12:01 thing is in operation.
i have only been in LOS for 2 holidays and each time some bars opened at midnight and it was party time.
and yes some places will open but will keep a low profile.
was in Patong when England were playing a football match(2am kick off in LOS)and therefore after closing time.
an Irish Bar in Sansabai showed the game but with shutters down and 2 young boys stationed outside.
if the Police entered the Soi,there was a long rap on the shutters and as instructed,all us punters kept quiet.
