No, it is not correct.
Firstly this is not my view of the economy.
I am not an economist and have very little knowledge if at all about national economics.
Secondly, my comment was about "the daughters of the land" and their part in supporting the rural economy.
I made no mention of falang, as you say, 'paying for it all.'
There are thousands of working girls in this country, as there are in the whole of South-East Asia.
Visiting falang or even some of those who live here may get the impression that it is the falang or western foreigner who supports most of this industry.
This is not correct.
There is the home market, which is quite sizable in comparison. There are also many people from non-falang countries who avail themselves of the opportunities here, for instance the large contingent of Japanese gentlemen. There are many others.
What we, as falang, enjoy of the working ladies here, is but the tip of the tip of the ice-berg when one is considering the overall size and financial contribution of this industry towards the rural economies.

But that is not to say that the falangs' contribution is in any way small............................. only by comparison.

Hi guys,
