I worked in GZ for about half a year and I have to agree with Mr. Bill: it’s quite a dull, dirty place. (But then again, the whole of China is when you are used to the likes of BKK and Manila – even Shanghai). As I mentioned before, it is a TOTALLY different world and they intend to keep it that way.
More on topic, for P4P the China Hotel surroundings (especially the pedestrian crossing) is the place to be. Just wander around and you will be asked if you want a “massage”. I never said yes, because most of them looked like Mongolian peasants with the plague.
There is however a small club/bar down the road of the China Hotel called “Gypsy Kings”. It is frequented by Arabian and Nigerian expats. Not really a p4p scene, but possible nonetheless.
Amongst the clubs Golf Club is probably the best. But still brain-dead boring compared to anything in BKK due to the omni-presence of KTV rooms, that annoying dice game and especially the mob of drunken Chinese. Man, do they get loud and obnoxious.
The biggest Club in GZ (cant remember the name) is awesome place with a metallic interior with a high tech sound and laser system – but it gets totally nullified (imho) by the Chinese way of having fun: playing dice games in booths and getting totally hammered. Plenty of talent around (PR girls and others) but not a word of English. Not.A. Word. Nothing, nada.
For a pleasant experience, go to the river and stroll along the bars and clubs there. Same deal, but very nice view with all the little lights.

I frequent Guangzhou during canton and other times around the year, and have seen SW girls standing opposite the DONG YUE HOTEL, Lu Jing road (Lu Jing Lu).
There were quiet pretty ones, but I never got a chance to try out...
Also the Translators standing outside at the entrance of the canton fairs, are many a hookers. You can ask them if they do full services also or only translation. Many a times they will themselves ask u.
The Massage parlours are nice, but they only offer a HJ, and that too only if u take a 2hour shot.

Some info about Canton/Guangzhou as this thread is getting old...
I am going there regularly and always staying in Garden Hotel, and only know the streets around Garden and a couple of bars.
What I can say is that the Chinese Girls on average are far far far behind the level of service of TGs in bkk; from all perspectives.
Recently I was a little bit more lucky, coming across two girls, 50 metres away from Garden, on their way to Tang Club. I stopped them in the street and we went to my room. Both of them were like 7s in bkk and would be quite girlfriendly and kissing, which has not been for me so frequent in China. One of the two was so friendly that she told me extensively about her life and her German Boyfriend attitude...and as a consequense was crying on my shoulder, which was quite a surprise for a Chinese Bar girl...
Two weeks ago I was having dinner not far away, with three guys of my company, when some young cuttie came in with two guys; I was really attracted by her eyes, and it was fun as a kind of game started, where she would look at me, definitely, but shy and quickly; I would insist and smile...next step was when my partners decided to go; I waved her bye bye, discretely, she answered...
BAck to the Hotel, I thought "chit", I want to meet this young girl; took a post card, a pen, wrote a few words with my telephone; went back to restaurant, just when the lady was going out...gave her the envelop in 2 seconds as she was stil laccompanied and left...
I waited, nothing during the next four days, and when I am back in Europe, an sms came in ! and we are now chatting like mad...in particiular of love ! I will keep you informed !

visit canton fair every year for past 15 years or so.
Only action in hotel massage spa. always offered HJ for what starts out at around 800rmb and ends up at 250, well rude not too.
Stay around Garden //hotel/holiday Inn area. There are FL's in the bars round there but real dogs.
China for me not a place for p4p. Do the circuit
Bangkok fair, need I say more
then onto manila via 4 days in AC
Canton fair let pecker recover for 3 days before Hong Kong, plenty available on web then back for weeks mongering in Bangkok.

Not much interest in this thread about Canton/China but...I promised to give a feedback on my encounter in a restaurant; see just above.
One reason to give it is that I did not hope any more it would be possible in China. I have met dozens of "girlfriendly" TGs in bkk, but China is a totally different story for me. For me it has been mostly sex with little fun or charm or girlfriendly experience...
This time it is quite crazy, even better than Thailand. Time will say, but it seems I have met a 22 yrs old charming cute sweet student, not professional, not trying to make money....
I spent three consecutive nights with her..could not even give her some small money for taxi.
In Europe, I would almost consider I am raping a minor, as she looks so young and fresh, and as I am so old.
I said I just looked at her in a restaurant and left my telephone number to her.
We then chat on internet and telephone, and meet in the lobby of hotel, one month later. 5 minutes after we are kissing like mad in the room and I feel like I am going back 35 years...So everything happens.
So far so good !! I should meet her again in two weeks, we will see...

I go to another fair in Canton (Guangzhou) a little later in the year & can usually find fun around the same area as you Arthur plus there are some Bars further afield & my Hotel on Shamian Island has a full service MP!

Hmmmm... I wonder what the problem is with you guys. I have had plenty of good times with ladies from the Mango Bar, and The Elephant and Castle (both near the Garden Hotel).
What you gotta do is ignore the FLs on the street and go into the bars.
I have had some very friendly relations with some of the bar staff too. One waitress named Ronnin was a piece of work and it took me several visits to melt the ice. But once I got her under the covers she was a passionate and attentive lover.

If you can get a local to take you to a Karaoke Place in Canton (Guangzhou) there are some simple stunning girls working there. Many are not over-utilized because there skin is too dark or they are to fat (normal to you or I) or too tall, so the locals are not attracted to them. So a SWG can do pretty good for not to much cost!
There are the 2 Bar Streets (probably more, Bai E Tan Bar Street along the River & Yan Jiang Lu Bar Street. Both are good but speaking a little Chinese helps.
If you like Clubbing (not Baby Seals), try Baby Face or Club (I have been to Baby Face but only recommended to go to Club). Again the language can be an issue but also a bit of fun as many local girls like to brush up on their Language Skills.
