I was in Beijing last year, and found most of hotels are not fussy about bringing GF, but, you have to show her identity and register at the reception.
I had a true business associate,girl, and I arranged a room for her in the same hotel where I stayed in Beijing. It looked very simple. Now this year, I have pre-arranged with a chinese cutie, who will be joining me next day after my arrival in the hotel.
Can she stay with me, if I book a double room ? Or, do I have to book a seperate adjoining room next to me ?
What is the consequences by law in China ? Can any one help me please ?

Just came from Beijing, most of the better Hotels will make you register the Girl (in particular if she looks like a BG) but usually not a problem. The more infamous Hotels easier (Holiday Inn Lido notably).
Its not nearly as tough or regulated as last year now that he Olympics are far behind them!
Prostitution is illegal but pretty openly flouted!

Decent Hotels for around the $60-80 USD mark, depending on day of the week & if there are many Trade Fairs going on.
Girls, all over the shop on prices, a great Massage with all the extras including tip 500 RMB, stunning 22 year old!
FL's usually want 1,000 LT but can be negotiated down to 700-800. The Mongolians in Maggies 1,000 up to whatever some people are stupid en0ugh to pay!

Stayed in Holiday Inn, Temple of heaven - in executive floor. It was lovely to stay with a chinese girl, whom I knew before. Absolute privacy, and very spacious room.No one even bothered to ask, who is she or things like that. It is as good as Bangkok. Rather better than Bangkok, in my case.

Just back from Beijing, hmmm... Been a crackdown on Bars, Karaoke & MP's. Fun still can be found but not in the so called normal places such as Maggies, P & T etc.
