Hello,
I will be in Beijing from 23 to 25 of december, anybody has infos about nightlife there? Someone knows also if the Holiday Inn on Central Plaza is guest friendly?

Head to the sanlitun area.a lot of pubs and bars there.some with bands and also some disco's.Beware of the touts in front of these places.They will all approach you to ask if you want "massage massage'.
If you really want a massage just stroll through the hutongs where you will find barber shops which also gives massage and a HJ for the right price.

I was in Beijing this June and at night there were street walkers along the road leading from World trade Center, but they didn't look that attractive.
Any directions on the "hutong" barber shop areas described above, and the rates for massage/HJ?
The bar street seemed "normal" when we visited, and no one approached us for "massage", just touts wanting to get us in for a beer - must have missed the scene totally then.

The action you get depends on the level of official attention applied at the time to such social crimes.
The closer to the 2008 Olympics you get, the more 'super clean' Beijing will become.
The mindset for officials in China and especially in Beijing, is that the Olympics begin practically next week.
It will be one of the all time great competitions for social crime when the Olympics are actually running. Visitors and athletes will view it as a great party, but the officials will keep trying to turn out the lights.
