No worries,
Some clarification: A taxi's total charge should be around $35 + OR - for the whole car. The scam van is $15 per person. So with three people it is cheaper, faster and far more comfortable to take a taxi. If only two it's the same price or just a couple dollars more for the same benefits.
If only one person travelling alone you should be able to buy the front seat and console area of the taxi for $10.00 confirm that no one else will be squeezed in between you and driver.
*I forgot to mention I travel by train to poipet 48 baht from Hualampong station to Aranyaprathet then take moto 60 baht or tuk tuk 80-100 baht to the border(5min). Train departs 5:55 am daily and arrives just before 12:00
I have always bought a ticket at the station same day.
Forget the rear car of the train though as half way down the line, the police will kick all Thai and farang out to squeeze some hard earned cash out of any khmer workers traveling without papers. You will then be squeezed into already settled passenger cars.
