SM: If you've got the time, I wouldn't give SGN a miss. The P4P options are limited, but enough to keep you happy for a week. Stay near Ha Bai Trung. I like Hosen or Indochine (where overnite guests aren't a problem). Most of the bar action's there. (stay out of Bar # 49, it's a rip-off joint) SGN is clean, interesting, and has a lot of great restaurants. I do love it, and if you just want to get laid it's the greatest, but the 3rd-worldishness of PP gets to me after awhile. The constant grime, the child beggars, and the ubiquitous, obnoxious tuk-tuk drivers drive me mad after 4 or 5 days. At your hotel (no matter how much you pay) things in your room will break or be broken and it'll be dirty (less so the more you pay). I used to love hanging out in the cafes by the river, but that's all noise and dust minus the scenery, until they finish the big big sewer project. Here's a little PP vignette. We hit Cyrcee early in the evening and we've got a slew of little hotties all over us. After about a hour of macking and fondling, as is the custom there, they convince me to take 3. After all they're small. I shepherd the little nuggets past the disapproving stink-eye of the NGO types hanging out in front of the FCC, to my room as quickly as possible, and the doorknob comes off in my hand. I'm trying to fix it for about 10 minutes and I give up and hit the front desk with my little troika. Nobody can fix it, so they call the manager. My girls are out of their element and a little embarrassed, unlike myself, who is in his element and big time embarrassed ! At this point a sensible man would've been off to the short-time hotel, but all my shit (except for $20) is in the room safe. The manager finally gets the lock back on, it's looking stable and I'm thinking we're in at last. No more shame and I can finally do something about this bluesteel. My mortification's over ! Then he proceeds to break my key off in the lock. Finally, I waved the white flag, surrendered to Cambodia, sent the girls back with my $20, went up to the FCC bar, and charged about a dozen mojitos to my room account. I guess they fixed the lock 'cause I woke up in my bed the next morning. Good Luck; wj

There are millions of LEGAL Viets in Cambodia,, a quick trip around "The Great Lake" near Angkor will show you that.
Anyway,, Viet or Cambo ???? Which is the best????

wacky - I suppose my post is ambiguous. I have actually had a lot of experience in Saigon and my ex is Viet. I have never been to Cambodia, but look forward to it with a passion.
My last trip to Vietnam was dogged by Cong An and bribes in certain hotels and ex family members who kept a close tail on me. Cambodia for me equals freedom, although I'm still looking most forward to the Thai part of my holiday.
If anyone cares to give me $300 000 Aust dollars, I'm in Southeast Asia for life.
Will report my observations in April for this site.
