Can anyone help - i am going to Bkk in Jan - Feb '03 and one week in Cambodia - 1) does anyone know the hotel that is best. Also, airfare the lowest I have gotten is from $238 (I will be in Isaan - Buriram at one point and willing to fly in and out of there) so hotel/air anyone have any suggestions - 'tanks in advnce

you can cross the border at Chong Jom, amphur prasart, Surin - not all that far from Buriram, - from there Mini bus etc probably get you to Phanom phen, roads rough, but interesting !

I also will be in Buriram, Buriram. Can you fly to Seim Reap from Buriram? How long is the drive in a mini bus? Is it just better to fly from Bangkok? After all these questions, How is the girl action in Seim Reap?

You can cros from Chong Jom, Surin province, and also from Aranyaprathet to Poipet, - see earlier post, and from these places mini bus to Siem Riep - however the roads are very bad, progress slow, so much easier to fly direct from either Bangkok or Phanom Phen, - plenty of action, alot Vietnamese virtual slaves, but be careful - they are desperates in Cambodia, LOS it is NOT !!

Would you recommend going to Pattaya 1st, then across to Cambodia? From there, by road to/from Ankor Wat, or by Air to P-Pehn, then to Ankor Wat, back to P-Pehn, then air out again?

Hello: Just checked air from BKK to Siem Riep: almost $300.00 roundtrip per person. Bangkok air doesnt fly from Pattaya to Siem Riep. It is cheaper to fly from BKK to Phnom Penh, but Iwould still the same distance from Ankor Wat as I am in Pattaya. Any ideas on overland travel.... looks to be about 200 miles from Pattaya to Ankor Wat (straight line). Costs or contacts would be appreciated. Thanks

- If you want to travel overland, best bet is to go to Aranyaprathet/Poipet - trains /Buses daily from Bangkok, - just over 3 hours by car from Bangkok or Pattaya, - but you cant take the car in Cambodia. From poipet a mini bus to Siem reip will take around 5-6 hours, so plan on getting to the border crossing before mid-day. It is not all that far, but the roads in cambodia are VERY poor. Perhaps go overland, and if the trip gives you the shits, fly from Siem Reip back to Bangkok, either direct or via Phanom Phen.
