Guys, collage recruiting changes very quickly..... Alll it takes is a new coach here, a new coach there.... look at Notre Dame..... You can smell a resurgent program there.....By the way, don't underestimate USC next year or for that matter a few other teams in the PAC 10. The big guys always reload.

I agree with Atl that the SEC is the best conference but I think if Colt had played, they might have had a chance to win. I think Texas can beat any team in the SEC on a consistent basis except Alabama and Florida. I'm not a Texas fan but McCoy was very classy in defeat congratulating the Alabama team.
Also Boise is a lot better than people give them credit for. They are willing to play any team anywhere but none of the BCS teams will play them. They even offer to play at their opponent's home site without a reciprocal home game and still no takers. Only conference that will play them is the Pac 10 which they beat.

The Mountain West was 4-1 in bowl games. TCU was the only loser. The WAC was 2-2, SEC 6-4, Big 12 was 4-4 and the Pac-10 was 2-5.

You are correct, it was 4 straight rather than the 3 I tried to give the SEC.
By the way, the 2010 recruiting rankings shows Texas won that battle over Alabama. Yes, perhaps next year will be different?
