won some cash on he game but thought the super bowl was a bit boring (most are) but give credit where credit is due. NO outcoached and once again a turnover wins a game for NO.
Manning is great but he had to see that db before he jumped the route, took a chance theWR would come back to get the ball.. Favres pick was different, he just made a stupid play and did not see the db. As a team, I think Minn. was the best team, (absent turnovers) they killed the Saints. But, the reality is turnovers are created so kudos to the Saints.
Prediction: Manning nor Brees never get into a super bowl again. So much luck and intangibles.
Lifetime GB fan until they let Favre go, but have to admit if Rodgers stays healthy he may get to more super bowls than Favre(2 in 19 years). GB certainly looks like they could be one THE teams of this decade.
Still hope #4 comes back and goes out ala Elway but so hard to do.........

Favre has made a career out of stupid plays (except the one year he won the Super Bowl during his 19 year career). Over and over again, stupid, stupid, stupid.
But Favre is not really stupid, just immature. He is nothing but a little boy trying to compete against men. No matter how well he plays during the season, or how well he plays during most of a big game, in the very end the immature little boy comes out and kills his team.
Favre will end up in the Hall of Fame because of his passing records, but he is no more than average among the other 25 quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame.

On ESPN Kobe Bryant had just won the game AGAIN with a last second shot. They asked Phil Jackson (the coach) after the game how does Kobe do it again and again.
Phil, who has always been a very reflective guy thinks a few seconds... then says "he's lucky".
As for Favre, I think it helps when you have a great supporting cast. Take Dan Marino. Never made it to the big one, but was a great QB.
The other part of the equation is the system. Holgrem (who coached the Packers for years) was a system guy. The system made the player, the player did not make the system. This is how people with not a lot of talent are made to look good.
In the old college basketball days it was Bobby Knight at University of Indiana. He was all about fundamentals. His less skilled kids would beat far more talented teams by simply playing the correct system.
A good defense gives the offense far more time on the field. It is exactly what the Saints did to the Colts. Keep the Colts offense off the field, limit their chances to hurt you.
Farve is a very good QB. His numbers speak for themselves.

If you look at the numbers of both Marino and Favre for interceptions, interceptions returned for touchdowns, and interceptions at key points of big games (this last one is not an official stat), then there is reason why between the two of them they only have one Super Bowl win. Its not just their team mates or their coaches.
Anyone gunslinger can throw up big numbers (especially if they have a 19-year career like Favre), but you cannot win the big games with "little boy" mistakes. Remember that the same year (2007) that Favre broke most of the NFL passing records, he also broke the NFL record for most interceptions. He also now holds the record for most interceptions during the playoffs.
Even though Favre has thrown far fewer interceptions in recent years that during his first 16 years in the NFL, he threw some monumental interceptions in each of the last three years during the playoffs to end the season for himself and his teams (Packers, Jets, Vikings). Each one of those game-ending interceptions was stupid, stupid, stupid. Not a tipped pass, or anything like that, but just the dumbest mistakes that any quarterback has ever made in the history of the National Football League.
