Well people smelt the shit pot stew of reasons to invade Iraq- weapons of mass destruction- The days of believing what uncle sam says is over- What I say is simple tuth- mind your own business and stop invading the lands of the muslim- Before it was the yellow man (vietnam) You have lost in Afganistan so go home- For decades to come all the children of many far away lands from your soil will be told stories before sleep about the crimes you have committed against them- If you believe otherwise in your delusions do so-

Quote: from DaffyDuck on 12:01 pm on May 6, 2011 About killing OBL, and why he wasn't caught alive -- a lot of shooting was most likely going on (Duh!), and anyone not immediately surrendering in this situation is to be considered "resisting arrest" and is to be assumed to be "not friendly". This isn't the kind of situation where you have much option to evaluate, particularly when you see Osama's face, and you have to assume he will be armed. Either way, I am not surprised if the mission specified "extreme prejudice", and for good reason. The burial at sea and the eventual burning down of the compound, I can totally understand - while more intelligence could have been gathered from raiding it further for information, the benefit to eliminating any sort of shrine or creating a martyr out of his body, makes sense. I have no doubt that the compound will be flattened and destroyed before long. The speed with which the body was disposed of made even more sense, as that was to avoid any foreign government making a claim to "one of their citizen" and getting the case embroiled in diplomacy, and potentially having to give back the body - and it would be enshrined. Sure, it was "in keeping with Islamic tradition", which just so happens to be damn convenient for as well. This way, disposing of the body was in keeping with the mission, it won't be found, and Bin Laden is denied any notoriety. I feel that part was surprisingly smartly decided upon, and well executed. After all, aren't holy men of Islam supposed to be buried in unmarked graves? No better 'unmarked grave' than the sea. (grin)
Damn, I *love* when they take the bait - hook, line and sinker. Oh, I mean, when *he* takes the bait... Tasty, buddy?
