Says Trink, "Rosemary Bar (second floor, NEP), is on the chopping-block. Interested parties, kindly contact Richard." Anybody know the asking price on this dump? This is the same one on the Fantasia side, right? So, heh-heh-heh, who wants to buy some shares and be a partner in the place? Sadly, I'm only half-joking, dammit.

VJ, not such a silly idea. Ok we have 3500 odd members here, we get 1000b from each and buy the joint and renovate it and it'll be bkktonites own little rooting pad, specials, discounts, reservations, home delivery, free beer er no free beer, the end is listless. I have already deposited my 1000baht into the trust fund, who's next.

You know there's some merit in some of those ideas. BKKtonite's own little rooting pad. Hmmmm. Bad news is that you can't run anything that way and stay in business. Business comes first or the business is finished. Drinking at cost or cost plus a bit is okay. Say cost of a beer is 32 and owners price is 35 which covers handling and refrigeration. That's okay. Plus with ownership spread around you'd probably add 3 hot fannies in the seats on any given night which gives the gloss of popularity. But drinking free spread among a thousand owners is the fast track to failure. I think the good model is a form of ownership that doesn't convey a lot of authority to an individual but only as a class of voters i.e. stockholders. Something that feels like an easier fit like a bar subscriber if that makes sense. Subscribe to the bar, drink at cost, get pride of ownership risking only a moderate amount of money and maybe-maybe-maybe see a small monetary return by the time a year or a year and a half has gone by. And there must be other things a bar could offer its subscribers that would raise interest but not undercut the financial side. Vanity email, free internet on site, personalized drinking glass on-premises, free T-shirt, pretty long list if you get down to it. 1000 bhat might not do it though because that 3500 members is bullshit. Sorry. But how many people do you actually see post in a week or even login? A couple hundred. Might need to be 10K per share with some sort of cap on individual ownership. US$250 might be a fair guess, enough to feel committed to something but not so bad as to be a scray risky investment. Oh don't make me think about this too much. Please. I'll start thinking too much.

Vj, next to Rock Hard and Spider's Web. Got my first handjob there .... sentiment ...... US$250 would not be so bad, but with so many owners who's going to be sure everything is splitted up the right way ...

Stop thinking to much, but just say 500 active and willing members, 10,000baht each which is a night or twos piss up here, so affordable by any stretch. Your beer price is to cheap, but it could still be the cheapest beer in Nep, every member gets discounts on bf's, with every 10th one free. As for our own little rooting pad being bad, it is only if your the manager and or you expect the members to get it for free, it won't be for free, but they would get their 10k back in discounts on their first trip, in other words they pay as usual, but discounted. You said' business comes first or the business is finished', but when your business is f_cking, the f_cking comes first, lol. f_ck it, we'll charge a Thai surcharge, only joking, but how I wish I wasn't, I was told tonight that Plaza surcharge is now 1500 and Poseidon 1700 for farang. Setup a travel deal with an agent, savings on hotels and airfares, 500 guaranteed influential business travellers. I like the vanity email, meet and greet limo with ya favourite cutey. Shit so many ideas, better not tell to many people, gotta keep our trade secrets, well a secret I guess.

What about rent? utilities or salaries?

That's right. Need to weed out duplicate accounts, inactive users (about 50%).

BK, the amount of rent 1 beer consumes, the amount of storage space to be paid for to store it is negligible as is the miniscule fraction of salary required to deliver it. 3 baht over cost is more than enough to handle all the costs 1 beer would incur. The point was that regular customers will still drive the profits by paying full price. Owner/subscribers (but NOT their guests) pay cost+.

VJ, I think you may be on to something here. Even with 50% of the members involved, you'd surely have a good mix of website designers, advertising specialist, travel agents, business managers, financial mangager, and don't forget the pussy managers. Our own harem and a place to call home when in BKK, doesn't sound half bad. Count me in for 10,000b.
