For those of us who booked our twice-yearly ticket to LOS months ago these forums (?fora) have made grim reading in recent weeks. A Night in Bangkok appears more to resemble an evening in Prineville, Oregon, Skegness, England or Palmyra,Syria (yes, all of them) than the wild scene we know and love.
Particularly bad news is the demolition of Asoke Plaza. There is a beer bar run by a morose moustachioed Englishmen in the street parallel to Asoke (leading to the other end of Soi Cowboy) inhabitated by friendly Lao girls which I greatly wish to revisit. Will it be there on Nov 15?
(MME offered to sell it to me for 3.5m baht in Feb.)
Also cld you BKK-dwellers give me some advice on how I shall
know if normal service has been resumed post-APEC? In SC, NEP etc?
Still taking the Lethicin & zinc.

f_ck it, I'm still going. If the P4P scene is dead there are still 1,000 other things to do in LOS. If all you want is paid play then maybe focus on Cambo, Vietnam, or the "new and improved" Singapore. 
As for me, I'm just looking forward to better weather than my previous trip and maybe a nice friendly tour guide. You can find good sex in any country, but finding good tour guides is a major bitch.

IMHO - A good time is where you make it. I am sure the BG's will not be out of business!
The venue may change, but that's what BTF is all about!
You just have to find it.
Keep reading BTF and everybody keep posting - especially the resident ex-pat's.
They were sure responsible in large part for my successful trip last month and I stay tuned for all the recent news regarding the APEC situation.
You can't max out 10-days if you spend 1/2 your time trying to figure out what is gloing on and wondering if you are in the right place.
Being in the right place in BKK is sometimes tough enough even when you are up to date..
When I land in Don Maung 12/12, I want to move out without worrying about changed protocol that I am not up on!
That is one of the many things I get out of BTF.
