I was thinking on the same lines. It is only dangerous if you don't want to get laid.
Honestly I can't remember a night in BKK that I have spent alone. Whenever I am there I go out for a beer and always something catches my I and off we go. Just seems to keep happening.... Ah well.

yes, me actually.
on my first trip to LOS i spent 4 nights in BKK and did'nt have access to the internet before i went and therefore knew nothing of the nightlife.
found a soapy massage 15 mins walk from hotel (by accident) and visited every night.
did not know of all the hotspots and slept alone every night.
first night in phuket i had a girl S/T in one of the go-go's,but never knew they were available for the night and again slept alone.
THEN I SAW THE LIGHT.
since then 2 nights alone on phuket.
was with my girl and we had a row and i walked off and got drunk.
returned to my bungalow and there she was sitting on the doorstep.
i was very drunk and angry and let her in,then went to reception and got another room for the night and stayed there and left her alone in my first room.
she did'nt stay,packed up all her things and went home.
we made up the next night.
2nd time was when i BF'd a friend of hers (with her blessing) and when i got back to her bar i found out she had gone off with a punter.
i was really angry (yes i know,double standards) and i just went out and got soooooooo drunk and went home alone.
the next day she had the cheek to deny going with the man,but she finally admited it.

Hi all -
A night alone in BKK? Yeah, my first night, duh! I'd gotten drunker than a skunk in Singapore the night before, which was stupid because it's so damn expensive there, and when I finally got into my room in BKK I slept forever. When I emerged the next morning I found that I was right in the middle of a single man's paradise, the heart of the Sukhomvit area, and proceeded to have good "sanuk" 'til the day I left.
To think I actually wasted one night...

Cataphract,
In most go-go bars, you will eventually get one or two girls around you. After you have bought them drinks of course. The only time I remember a dozen girls around me, was when I bought them all drinks.  Be careful though, it can be an expensive exercise.

Yep, it works that way in general. Most of the time, it is the standard small talk, such as, "where you come from?", "what is your name?", "where you stay?"... and then "you buy me cola?", etc.
