While on teh subject of Long Gun, I had posted earlier that I had never found any problem entering any bars in Bangkok despite being from India (though on teh fairer side). Well guys, my first time to Soi Cowboy on my last trip there earlier this month I headed straight for Long Gun, having heard so much about the place in this forum. I was shocked to be given the "Sorry, for members only" treatment there. Put me down so badly, I left Soi Cowboy without trying any of the other bars. It was an introduction to reality for this Indian. Ofcourse it was a loss for the bar and the girls there as I am a fair tipper but it was also a loss for my self esteem. Guess thats reality!

Sorry to hear of your bad xperience. I am white from UK but my next visit to BKK will be with my business partner. He is of indian extraction and has never been to BKK before.
have you had bad experiences in other parts of BKK??

The only other places I have had a "members only" problem was last year at two gogo bars in Nana Plaza. I am not sure of the names but one was the bar on street level before PlaySkool on the right side and one on the second level. Sorry but I don't remember the names. But I am sure your friend would not have a problem if he is with you. Do let me know how it turns out for you.

Policies will change. Some time ago, even the massage parlors such as Plaza Entertainment refused entry to caucasians. Today anyone can get in, they just charge you a bit more. It is their loss for discriminating clients.

I will be in BKK next month. I am planning to stay at Ambassador hotel cos I like soi Cowboy, so I will let you know what happens. I will only be there for 3 days though 'cos I have to go to HK also on this trip.
