VJ: Thanks a lot for you info. With the bars described as having "decent" girls etc it seems to me that NEP would still be a better option for someone with only limited time. Mr Griffin seems positive about it. KC2 sounds interesting but I really want to avoid any hassle, even if I miss the best looking girls. I will probably drop by for a beer, since I have just decided to book a hotel near Patpong. Lets see. Thanks guys.

Well, the quality of advice you get is directly proportional to the quantity of information you give...
How much time do you actually have? You can do all the good bars in Patpong in a single night.
On a related note, they finally put a bullet into the worst go-go of the last half decade. Rififi is going, if not already gone. Good riddance.

VJ: My trips rarely exceed 3 days. I usually manage to free myself from other business only after dinner. I don't really like spending lots of time roaming from bar to bar, I usually visit a couple of gogos looking for the right partner and try to go to bed early. Only exceptions would be very seedy bars where hanging out is more fun, e.g. LB bars and I guess SoL will be good.

One thing I would like to say about Patpong is that from my latest trips it has become so full of Ladyboys that I can't be bothered anymore to go there at all, too much hassel to figure out whether a prospective partner is LB or not, when I am not into LB's and just want to enjoy the evening.
So if you think like me - skip PP

Queens Castle 1 used to be my favourite... until it closed down a couple of years ago.
For the 'bargain hunters' :it seems they have 50 baht drinks at Queen's Castle 2 until 10pm.

So if you're looking for LB's than perhaps an evening at Patpong is worth your while. You can spend some time at King's Corner trying to figure out who is and who isn't (I believe that's BK's Coke/Pepsi challenge), then go to KC3 for further entertainment.

Yup, it does seem to be a trend especially at weekends that they (LBs) come out of their hiding holes and harrass and try and steal wallets/phones from anyone that comes near them. 
I got caught on Saturday night/morning by a LB that works in KC1 and 2. She came up and sat beside me in one of the beer bars for over an hour ( this was after KC1 shut ) trying to get me to go with her and me saying no,no for an hour. When I left the bar she followed me and suddenly clung to me saying "go with you for fun" I said no and she walked off, I was relieved that she had finally gone. Unfortunately, I was also relieved of my phone and about 700B from my pocket. I went straight back to my friends and phoned my number but she had already taken the sim card out or switched the phone off so it went to voice mail.
From speaking to the girls in the beer bar, she/he is known as a thief but they dont do anything as she doesnt work in their bar, despite that it brings the name of their bar down. And for that matter Patpong. Those agressive LBs really spoil a fun area.
I know what I would like to do next time I see her  but I know what I am more liable to do, just snarl at her and tell her to f*ck off if she comes near me again.
