Patpong: Never Been
Nana: Found the girls in these bars to be a bit pushy for Lady Drinks and Bar Fines. Quality okay but I just want to look around and make my selection without the hassle.
Soi Cowboy: My favorite. Girls are not overly pushy.
Soi 33: Great for happy hour drink prices and some of the girls are real stunners but expensive.

cowboy... but shhh lets keep it that way... longgun regular, I dated a bartender 'Nang' in 2001/2002 very legit and formal relationship as she was not in the p4p mix (as far as I knew)... the free on the sly sangsom refills were a treat too... markster is right about blue bird bacara, up stairs is pure.

Patpong is the Khoa Sarn Road of the bar scene. It is a dreadful, appalling nightmare. A tourist trap to be avoided at all cost. One exception being Lucifer, although that is not really a bar pur sang.
I have to agree with all the old hands: Soi Cowboi is the best of the 3 – but I might be slightly biased as I have to avoid the AW side of NEP for well-known reasons.
All in all, don’t forget that there is more action to be had in BKK then those 3 places. I have found that the quality (attitude) of most of the bar girls is quite disappointing: skyrocketing starfish ratings.
Freelancers are the way to go. Check out the board for info in beer bars, CM2, qbar, Hollywood, Dancefever and so on.
But if you are in a hurry, gogo’s are the way to go of course.

It changes all the time. I few years ago I really like PP than Nana and SC was a joke. Girls were, in my opinion, fat and ugly. Now, I spend most of my time in SC but still get around to favorite bars in the other places. Things change and you want to keep track of what is up. Its easy to visit all three. Just keep your eyes open and listen to the little voice inside. I went to SuperQueen in PP for years and new the mamasan well. Went there last trip and they padded the hell out of my barbill. It changes all the time.

SC traditionally much more laiod back and infinitely less hassle than the other two.
That said I have noticed a swing change here too. Perhaps a result of its renewed popularity but more likely my imagination.
Of the three SC is my choice.
One interesting observation though (from a female dentist here) - is that non P5P thais tend to accept and even socialise in Silom and PP to a degree. When I asked her why she said that they think of PP as "tourists and sex" (acceptable) whereas NEP, in her view, was "sex tourists" (unacceptable).
Not that is matters a jot to me but I thought it an interesting point.

Daft prices, most the girls I want to take home and give a reall good fffffffffffffffffffffffffffeed of somthing like mcdonalds, most of them look like they have been taking the wrong type of things in there mouth and I am not talking about the trouser snake.
Good thing: nice looking bars, very good service from the staff (not service in the room) I can speak thai but for the men that can not its a great place to go as english is spoken really well there.

After reading all of you I have a funny observation:
I been to Patpong for the first time during my last visit and to my great surprise the girls there are quoting me lesser prices than in NEP or SC 
So all those observations are relative, simply go where you feel like and try to enjoy your time
