Been there last night,
- thanks for the advice b-t-w -
and yes, the combination is fun.
First sat downstairs, where of course the girls look far more sexy in their very tiny outfit. Cuties around, one kept pulling down her string, showing everything (exclusively, I may say, as I was the only farang sitting and looking).
Then picked a very sweet dancer and invited her out, first we went upstairs.
That impressive person seemingly running the place entertained us with Tequila, saying it was her/his birthday. Never appeared on the bill.
Yes, more going on second floor, the place was packed, had had a look from down under for sure, and quite some playing around with their dresses again showing much more than you would expect (haha).
Great time.

Two weeks ago I was sitting in Erotica Ground Bar. Next me was a older guy, having his beer and looking happy. Suddenly the door opened and a really fat lady with ugly horn glasses stormed in. She performed a strange "dance" in front of him and then started to shout and cry. She jumped with all her monsterous weight on him, throwing his beer to the floor. After this. she was escorted out by Mamasan. After a minute or so, the guy also went out probably to rescue his marriage. Poor guy.
Well, this bar has a dilemma. While the drink prizes in the lower level are significantly cheaper than above (Happy hour until 9pm), the girls are just average and rather boring in my opinion. The second level has some amazing girls, dressed like Siam Square students, quite the sort I like. Of course they pull customers from the ground floor as well... Mamasan not happy...
I kept looking up to the glassfloor, which is not very comfortable for my neck, while Mamasan and the service staff tried to get my attention to the lower ladies. It seems to me, that those bars - though connected - aren't the best friends.
Funnily, I was asked by Mama if I am AUA English Teacher 
I paid my drink then and took my glass (which is possible) upstairs and barfined my phuan.

I wish to relate an experience I had in this bar several months ago:
Started downstairs, then took my drink upstairs to get a better look/different angle, at the attractions up there. One girl caught my fancy, so I bought her a drink, and was comtemplating whether to bar fine her. However, she also caught the fancy of another customer sitting downstairs who decided to bar fine her without requiring a closer examination of the goods. So, upon learning of the other customers request, she immediately left, after a visit to the toilet, leaving me stuck with an unused lady drink, not even bothering to come over to explain or apologize.
I certainly wasn't upset, and understand that these girls will take whatever business they can get, but I explained to my waitress how I shouln't be ogligated to pay for a 90% unused lady drink abandoned by the bar girl.
She didn't appear to agree, so I requested to speak with the manager, who turned out to be a farang, possibly of Eastern European or Russian origin. The manager saw things my way, and the drink price was deducted from my check bin.
After all the rip-offs and bill padding that goes on, it was quite refreshing to get a fair shake in a gogo bar. I will be glad to again patronize Erotica, if ever again there are slim pickings at the Rainbow bars, Mandarin, and G-Spot.

seajohn, I hardly think the gal was rude,, perhaps "cold/ business like" would be a more apt description. She took a sure / certain sale down-stairs Vs a possible sale at an uncertain price up-stairs.
General bar rules would deem it was necessary for her to stay with the original customer until completion of the "ladies drink" but those rules are seldom complied with in today's dog eat dog world.
Thaiaficionado, well done for neither getting angry with the girl nor the bar and also for very reasonably asking for the money back on the ladies drink.

In practice, if she is barfined then she would go immediately with the customer who barfined her and the customer would get the cost of the LD removed from the bill if it has not been consumed. I have barfined girls that are sitting with other customers (I almost always knew them or had talked to them before) or dancing on the stage with a LD waiting with another customer, and the girl always went and got dressed to go.

I don't suggest that she had to finish her lady drink with Thaiaficionado and possibly waste time and lose a potentially more sure customer downstairs. Not at all. I completely expect her to move to the more certain sale.
What I suggest is, it would have shown much more "customer service" and "general politeness" (as it is known in almost every society) to at least have apologized with a quick explanation or said goodbye or something before she ran off to her possibly more certain sale downstairs, because after all he is someone who had just bought her a drink... Not to mention that Thaiaficionado may turn out to be a future customer as well on another evening.
She didn't do that, and that to me is sub standard service. And in fact yes I do believe it is rude in any case to run off without any explanation at all (even if, as in her case, one must run off) when someone has bought you a drink.
Her loss actually.

Yes, her loss in more ways than one.
If the customer gets the refund in most bars, he is happy with that. But the bar takes it out of the girl's salary or her cut of the next lady drink or two or three to cover it. The bar never loses out.
A drink is accidentally spilt or even knocked over, if it is replaced free of charge to the customer, it is usually at the cost of the serving girl or the one nearest to the accident.
The abbo's view that the girl's behaviour wasn't rude but more "cold or busines like" doesn't cut here.
Any businessman of any worth knows that if he behaved like that in his working life it wouldn't be too long before nobody would want to do business with him and he'd be just left to stereotypically dismiss race after race after nation, after nation in a discriminatiory and prejudicial way until he'd written off the whole human race and all he'd have left would be to cling on to a finger-hold in a rich country and try to milk a poor one with as little human interaction as possible, while at the same time starting a thread inviting anyone bored enough to comment on his unacceptable and anti-life comments as if they were of any interest to anybody.
There is no rule about finishing a drink either for the lady or the customer.
And yes, maybe it is an unwritten rule of the bar that whoever bar-fines her has to be attended to in some way. The barfiner has indicated intent. The beer-drinking chatter has not.
To leave without saying goodbye at least if not apologise is just a lack of common courtesy and politeness that maybe is not found in too much of an abundance down under but which is generously shown daily even in the depths of Issan.
And a lot of the ladies in Erotica are not quite up on the social graces and etiquette of bar beer swilling falang and their general level of politeness, let alone a rudimentary level of English as a spoken language.
A wave of the hand or a wai would have meant something. Maybe this particular lady's eyes are glued to an open wallet. Who can blame them. There are a lot of time-wasters according to how they see things. They don't want guys coming into the bar and just drinking and chatting and fondling. They want to earn some money. That is what they are there for. But they usually do it with a modicum of discretion and courtesy.
Also it depends how polite the guy was to her ad their interaction.
To me they've always been polite.
I have no Thai to speak of, and so I naturally think that some girls who are just off the bus and have no English are naturally a little reluctant to come over and be bored with me.
Erotica is a good bar if you don't mind your ears being blown away. Because it is up high, falang feel that they can take it too far at times and the girls have to contend with that nightly. On the other hand, being up so high also gives them a little warning time to pull back from the level of dancing that they are used to. My experience in the past of Erotica was always good, even to the extent of a serving girl running down all the stairs to catch me on Soi 4 to hand me my small bag containing my wallet, passport, cards, keys etc. And that's damned good in anyone's book.
