If little cutie had asked how much I was going to pay then it wouldn't have been such a problem, would have discussed with her and then she could take it or leave it. The fact was that her mate got involved as I was paying the bill with the cashier stood there.

BigD: hehehe marriage definately wasn't on the cards, but me being such a romantic sensitive type of chap it kind of spoils it to get lawers involved and have a formal contract drawn up  I like it when there is a bit of trust built up with me sitting there and chatting and buying her lady drinks. If I was after a dead cert i'd have gone to eden for a take away and then it would have been more business like. Probably it's my fault for not being specific / direct enough. When my approach does wok though it can turn out really well.
So what's the score with this bar fine of 600 baht? Anyone know if that _is_ the going rate at "big dogs"? or were the bg's trying to pull a fast one?

I think a couple of people are missing what ChrisO is saying. Its not a matter of 150 baht, he was surprised by the bf amount. No one wants to be seen as a sucker, why should a person have to pay more then the standard rate - just because that person as been pegged as an "easy mark".
I've never bf from Big Dogs, I've never seen a girl in there thats tickled my fancy - so I don't know what the standard bf rate is.
So will be interesting to see what someone says it is, but I'm expecting between 500-600.

So was the "pimp" smiling all the time, was the BG smiling all the time? Although it's normally best to smile when talking through a (potentially) face-loosing situation perhaps if you had shown a more serious face (not angry, just not smiling) and asked the "pimp" to leave you alone then you might have conveyed the idea that you were able to handle the situation and that you were in control and not the "pimp" or the BG!

Isee - That's exactly my point re the barfine. A couple of hundred baht means nothing to me - I was prepared to pay the 600bt barfine no problemo. It was just when the other bargirl got involved with the negotiations that I changed my mind, and started wondering why the barfine was so high.

Yeah it seems they increased the bar fine in big dogs again. The other bar they own is loosing major money and customers right now so I guesse there trying to compensate for it.
The "pimp" thing is sorta getting old, been like that for awhile with some of the girls. the new ones latch on to the "others" when they start working there and then kinda stick together.
There just looking out for the young ones so dont let it bother you, or there trying to jump in with you.

a little off topic
why dont bars charge different barfines for different category of girls. after all god did not create all bargirls equal.
the ones that get barfined all the time say 700 baht.
the ones that are average 500. the ones that get little action who knows...300 baht (Wot difference does it make, if you dont get barfined at regular rate there must be something about that girl that turns off guys).
this way the bar will maximize the girls earning power. some places the same girls get barfined day after day while the others just watch............king castle 2 in patpong comes to mind.
maybe the girls will start altering their fees, the better girls charge say 2000, next level a 1500, and so on.
some girls just think too highly of themselves, just like many of the guys here....lol.
