Realty CHECK. Bros, none of the attractive dancers in Nana or Soi cowboy are going to do S/T for 500 or 1000. The barfine is 300-500! Most will not walk away for less then 2000 from a newbie. If you have a few trips under your belt, you might be able to negoitiate a 1.5k at certain times, but not at RB4 or in any of the popular places. Freelancers are another story, they will go away with you for a plate of bugs (have some mouthwash ready) and 1000 baht.

I asked a BKK FL I know about rates and she said she was getting 2K ST and 3K LT. This girl was nice but average (I paid 1500 being one of her regulars).
I have also confirmed this with several other punters I know.
You can still get a deal at some TTM that are offering Specials at 1500 Bt.
The reason is that prices are going up everywhere in LOS and these people have to cover their 'Fixed Costs'...

Venue and punter. Put these two factors together and you can find out what someone has paid, so you get ideas of what's really going on. The girls themselves want money so that's a constant that's adjusted by the other two. Her relative beauty level just places her somewhere in the the field of competition.
Thai are always trying to make themselves look better and more successful than they actually are. I wouldn't take a FL at face value if she told me how much she usually gets from customers. Especially if I was about to be one myself! They pull this trick all the time. They are cunning, but once you know how they think....
In fact I remember one time I was at a decrepit little hotel massage brothel on soi Yenchit (Chan Rd) that has since closed, and during the 2 hr 500baht oily I decided I'd get some action from this girl.
I said,
'Who's your main customers here?'
'Old Thai men, Thai Chinese men, Old Chinese men...' [the neighborhood is dwelt in by many Thai of Chinese ancestory, though the girls here were all from Chiang Rai; the boss shipped them down]
Isaid, 'They give you much for tips for handjobs?'
'Oh yes! A lot! A loooot!.... Sometimes three hundred baht!"
I smiled and rolled over on my back.
You see, she thought that if she quoted me the high end of what she might get, then she might get it from me too. However you see the irony. Of course, I paid her the high end (of what she wanted) because I wanted to be well liked by the girls there. In this place I was paying for FS 500 - 1000, just as I still do in the predominately cheap to mid Thai scene. Are the girls pretty? Yes. And they do everything nowadays that the girls who normally work with foreigners do (good BJ, etc).
I don't want to get into what I pay for girls at certain bars or FLs who cater to foreigners. (I never do GoGo girls anymore, nor do I party with bar women who speak much English, eg Soi 33, sorry but women there do not excite me at all except possibly as eye candy), I've covered it on other threads. I don't bargain hardly at all. There's either me saying what I'll pay and accept or not. Or me not saying and afterward paying and no problem. Or she quotes, I counter offer, and accept or not. I like to get that bullshit out of the way. If everything is great, I may give her more than I said or originally planned as well. I'm obviously much more interested in low end girls who don't speak English (much more exciting to me and real; less jaded, less glossy, less predictable). So in that milleu I pay well wherever I find them. I mean, when a pretty 19yrs old from Chiang Mai just about leapt for joy and get all kissy sweet and call me forever when I gave one 1200 after sex, you feel you're doing OK. This was in BKK. You just have to get to know people. Without lying, just be kind and be willing to speak to them about their interests.

Have to agree with your last comments. I'm still pulling ladies for 1000ST, and a few at the price from NEP. I'll never pay 2K baht for ST, regardless, unless it's an all included price at an MP. It's just too far out of line with the cost of living in Thailand. I have regulars who are happy to get the 1K all day long -- as you say, it's about the connection, and if you click, the money does not become the main issue. It's a requirment for service, but it's not all about the money, the way it is with the machine gun ST's the Rainbow-type girls are running these days. Punters who parachute in for only a week or so don't often get the option of finding these other venues, but some of FL's in Nana parking lot or the beer bars are decent ladies and will definitely go for 1K baht ST.
I don't spend much time in go-go's anymore, they've gotten way to mercenary for my tastes. Mai sanuuk. If I want to talk to mercs, I'll chat with farangs in Washington Square Prefer the more laid back venue of the beer bars and the non-farang haunts. Cheaper, more genuine, and some very nice ladies.
