Chompoo, if you are betting with the girls, watch them play first. Some are hustlers, who prey on unsuspecting tourist. They like to start with 100 B, then gets to 500 B to 1,000B. A girl told me that she makes between 2,000B to 3,000B a day.
I like to buy the girls drinks, sometimes, I may give them a 100 B time, but not always, don't want them to get used to it.

I wish I could find girls who played that well, but haven't yet (again maybe they only come out at night). ÝThe best I've found is a tall girl at Flyers who works daytime, but I still had to give myself a handicap (at least up until my sixth or seventh beer).
The girl I first mentioned (with the snake tattoo) was clearly some sort of hustler, but it's not clear if she was just looking to pick up money playing pool or take advantage of her many other skills. ÝShe was pretty good, but like most BGs not very disciplined and was making lots of poorly thought out shots (easy to beat while sober).
I don't start "gambling" with them until I've played with them a while, and it's more just a fun way to tip them nicely. ÝMaybe I should start gambling money vs. sexual favors? 
Sounds like I have to drop in the Bamboo bar on my next trip.

Hey, we Americans have different style rules. ÝRemember, we think that sneakers are the height of fashion.
As for the pool thing, I have found a couple of decent players at Flyers. ÝLast time there, though, with the ones who work there I ended up playing two of them against one, so they always got two turns in a row. ÝWith that twist it became difficult to win, especially if I scratched, since they then got three "turns" in a row. ÝI also played a really attractive one with a silicon job that was quite good. ÝShe kicked my ass. Ý
The tall one that Chompoo refers to I think I've played. ÝShe is skinny, has a harsh face and hair just past her shoulders cut in bangs in the front, right? ÝShe's not much of a challenge, but she plays the style where they bang the hell out of the ball hoping to slop in a ball or two on every turn. ÝIf she doesn't scratch on that she can win sometimes. ÝBut she's not attractive or particulary pleasant, at least to me so it's not worth the aggravation.

i have no experience of the pool bar girls you are talking about,but have a story.
in patong,i used to play regularly with a barmaid in my then local daytime bar and she was good.
we never played for money,just for fun and the table was crap,but i never beat her in games over 13 months.
the table was the worst i have ever seen,all the ripped places repaired with sellotape and the tilt on the table was unbelievable.
i soon learnt that if you went for the top pocket,you had to aim 4-5 inches to the right and it would roll to the left and drop in.
good ploy when playing the other falangs for a beer.
i knew the table,they did'nt.
